The crazy part is Benning’s core is now winning with decent support.

If he doesn’t make that OEL trade, you could argue he built a near perfect team to hand off to competent management.
Ahahaha Benning gets no credit for this current team. f*** that bitch.Especially when the guys who are currently our superstars weren’t even his choices lol

It's fun to dump on the Senators, and at the moment it's deserved.

I still think they can flip Chychrun for (almost) what they gave up for him. The Coyotes were hamstrung at the time because they weren't willing to take on money. Theoretically new Sens ownership could retain and/or take bad a contract if it meant optimizing the return.

Obviously they aren't getting a top-12 pick back, but Chychrun at 50% retained could still return a later 1st+2nd+prospect/young player, imo. He's been better than advertised offensively and when he gets to play the left side he's been okay defensively (far less of an issue than anyone not named Sanderson). Now the bit about him being able to play the right side seems like a crock because he is a tire fire over there, at least in Ottawa.

This shouldn't be the DeBrincat situation all over again, if they play this right there should be a long list of teams looking for a top-four LHD who can carry the offence from the back end.

I his defense, he wants to win and has only played for the Coyotes and Sens. Hard not to assume the grass might have a green tinge somewhere when all you've seen is brown.
Does he help a team win? Always seemed like he was not equal to the sum of his parts and injury prone.

Getting Stützle is the only thing protecting Dorion from being the worst of all time. Just look at Dorions history.
I mean, Benning was so dense he couldn’t hold a proper season ticketholders chat. 💬 I watched the NHl celebrate Doriok and his amazing work just a year and a half ago.

Craig Button still think he was better acquisition than Ekholm? LOL. Effin Moron.

Anyways, Chych wanted out of Arizona cause he was tired of tanking. So this tracks.
This thread has absolutely nothing to do with the Oilers but you still found a way.

Hey Sens fans, besides a defensive replacement for him and a goalie (presuming some of you have soured on Korpisalo, we don't have a goalie to spare among Demko/ DeSmith), is there anything else you're looking for in return if Chychrun gets traded?

Presuming the bidding starts with a 1st, a D-replacement (one of Soucy/ Zadorov, basically anyone not named Hughes/ Hronek from our blueline) and a prospect (reluctant but may become open to trading a blue-chip), what would need to be added for him to don the Canucks blue and green?

As far as I understand, Ottawa fans won't be too upset if he leaves.

He shows flashes of how good he can be. His canon of a shot, his offensive awareness but he hasn't been great in his own end.

Regardless of how good or bad he's been, the Senators can not run Chych, Chabot and Sanderson on the left hand side. So a decision has to be made between Chych and Chabot.

If Chych wants out . . . fine. Makes the decision easier. Trade him this deadline as he still has a year left of a fantastic contract and will bring something solid back. Probably not what they gave up to get him . . but a first and a plus are perfectly reasonable.

A comparable right shot right side defenseman. Preferably a more defensive minded player.

Or a package including a first, prospects and later picks. Jumble it up however it works based on the level of the first or prospect.

Why is this tweeter saying "hometown" novelty? He's from Florida, and as far as I know has no connection to Ottawa (his dad is from the MTL suburbs), and he played a bit of minor hockey living in Toronto.

I imagine GMs are going to lowball Ottawa given how much of an injury risk he is. He goes on LTIR for 20 games again through the deadline and you better pray you can move him for the price you want before he walks.
