Rumor: Chychrun has Soured on Ottawa, Unlikely to Extend

Am i crazy or should Toronto be all over this guy if he's on the move?
I think his defense is a bit overrated and today he got beat in OT by Ehlers pretty easily. Toronto needs someone more defensive minded like a Tanev that's good in PK.

A) I don't think Ottawa is going to move him to Toronto for anything short of an overpayment, he probably end up back in the West

B) I don't think Toronto would be willing to give up anything that Ottawa wants from them

C) just like Ottawa, the Leafs don't need more offence. They need defence and Chych isn't the greatest in his own end.

Toronto needs a defensive dman.

And Toronto will be sellers at the deadline or at the very least not buyers.

This isn’t the year to push the chips in - they’re terrible defensively and structurally and have zero depth, defense and goaltending.

They are more than a Chychrun from being serious contenders.

Isles could really use him to have some kind of offensive weapon besides Dobson on the blueline. But they have no cap, and no assets, so...

I tried to make a post about this but I don’t think it went through. If we use the Horvat trade as a template for this, something like 1st + Bolduc + Pageau could make sense from our perspective at least.

They'd need to show some marked improvement under Roy before I'd even consider moving this first. It's just as likely they continue to spiral and that becomes a pretty decent pick for a non-existent prospect pool. If they go on a heater before the deadline, then by all means...otherwise...ehh

Lol man his dad comes off like a total loser here.

Why the need to block random people? You likely won't ever see their tweets.
lol, that’s exactly what his dad should be doing, why would his dad deal with internet losers, son needs more effort, rather have Chabot, tongue in cheek posts.

He doesn't follow these people so he's unlikely to ever see their tweets.

He literally searches his sons name and finds said tweets. You really think "that's exactly what his dad should be doing" ?

Glad your in charge of what his dad reads and doesn’t, as if you know lol.

Yea his dads hero for blocking random people on twitter because he doesn't like their criticism of his son.

Warriors could use some youth and a new KD, is it too late for him to take up basketball?

Klay+Green for Chych, Warriors get young player with upside, Sens get one of the greatest shooters of all time and a massive pest with defensive presence.

Warriors like Kraft Dinner, they should up their game,

Seems like brain rot to me that people would make a point out of being blocked in such a public display. So what? Someone doesn't have to be forced to see your comments. It's this fake "woe-is-me" indignancy.

I don’t think this is true. I think it’s just negotiation. His dad likes posts on Twitter about him staying.

Feel free to update the title of this rumour about JC having soured on Ottawa to:
