Documented bro. Look it up. "Hometown" fanfare isn't what they always expect it to be. Can be tough on a guy.
I know, you said everything you post is satire, that’s why I quoted it.
Do you have the documentation for his dad.

So Seravalli, who discussed this 7-10 days earlier than in the OP, “per the streets” guy.

Was on “coming in hot” podcast, and talks about this.
Said the reason he is on the trade board, is basically because a lot of teams are calling Sens, said the main reason is Sens have an abundance of left shots, Chabot, Sanderson, Chychurn and Brannstrom all are left shot. Sens haven’t been calling around, but will listen, like all teams do.

Dreger yesterday, said the same, teams calling Ottawa, lots of left shot D.

None of them mentioned he wants out, likely would like to stay.

He has literally referred to Ottawa as his hometown bro.
He was raised in Florida’s until 9th grade. Came up here and played in Toronto and sarnia. I’m just curious, what’s the connection between him and Ottawa? His parents live in Florida and his dad is from Quebec, maybe he was raised in the Ottawa area?

His family has a cottage near Ottawa and his grandfather has season tickets I believe. Apparently spent a lot of summers here.

Via NHL.com last year:

Originally from Boca Raton, Florida, where his family settled following his father Jeff's eight seasons in the NHL, Chychrun's second home is in Ottawa. He spent summers at a family cottage in White Lake, an hour west of the city, when he played for the Coyotes during his first seven NHL seasons. His father is from Ottawa, and his grandfather, John, and sister, Taylor, live there.

Awesome. Thanks for the info.

When it happens with both teams you’ve been on….maybe it’s the player and not the team.

Toronto - Ottawa

To Toronto - Chychrun

To Ottawa - Marner

Both players are UFA’s next year. Gives the teams time to extend them.

I'm for trading Chychrun as you can't have your top 3 D all LD. The Chychrun Chabot pairing doesn't work as neither player is good on the right side. And each guy is more offensive and needs a defensive partner. Obviously Sanderson won't be traded as he's the Sens' best D-man and has by far the highest upside. The only way to keep Chychrun is if Sanderson plays on the right side, he didn't look bad there unlike C and C, but best to keep him at LD, his strength. Unfortunately, either Chabot or Chychrun need to go, and it won't be Chabot as he's signed long term. Chychrun is a good player, with some limitations, but doesn't fit the team.

Do a sign and trade in the offseason assuming Marner is willing to extend around 8 to 9m long-term and Toronto is happy with a Chychrun contract.

Marner won’t sign anywhere near $9M. He wants $16M. That is why Toronto needs to trade him.

chychrun and? straight up toronto takes a big loss.
We don’t care, Toronto won’t be able to fit his contract under the cap. He has to go.

Unless Ottawa wants Nylander. I would trade him straight up. He is already extended.

One of the 2 has to go. Can’t keep both with the cap.

How many players will get sour on Ottawa right after them paying premium assets to get the aforementioned player?

I hope Ottawa gets his hockey staff to stop making bold move in order to get competitive.. yet to still be behind the (strapped for talent) Habs in the standings...

Habs don't have half of Ottawa talent but they "play the right way" most of the time (apart from yesterday).

Ottawa is just a freaking mess...

I wish my Habs had Ottawa's young core of offensive forwards. Plus their defense, on paper, is good.

What's missing?
Goaltending?
Leadership?
Both?

Sad but I don't think they'll get as much as they paid for Chychrun...

They got rid of the entire clown car in charge 2 months ago, and the awful ownership that allowed it 5 months ago. Sens management and ownership aren't going to be making the idiotic decisions they have been for the past 8 years under Melnyk and Dorion, or shouldn't be.

Marner doesn’t want $16 million

But if he goes 8
I wouldn’t be surprised if his dad said he deserves the same AAV as Matthews as the floor in negotiations.

Hope so for you guys...

And personally, I wish for both our teams Roy will eventually be named Ottawa's coach.

That would be excellent for the rivalry between both teams and I sincerely think Roy would bring a winning mentality in Ottawa. Plus he's good with the young guys and he certainly have credibility.

He's smart so I'm pretty sure he has learn from his past mistakes too...

And in terms of marketing, it would bring some of the potential francophone fans around Ottawa in... Well, I think it would certainly help ..
