Love how everyone says Kerfoot is useless, and then you see a thread like this for a guy on pace for fewer points, paid 1m more for two additional years and someone genuinely says the asking price is a 1st
To be fair, in some Habs fans imagination they are getting 4+ firsts for trading off their scraps this TDL.

And Max Domi and Juolevi, then Max Jones, if Cliff Poo available, Jim Parsons can solve the issue in net and just to make it generational land Pat Kane.

Civil war in the locker room with the Sue players.

One of those guys plays/played with Tavares and Nylander for a while season. Getting 60pts leaching of them.

The other has been playing mainly with the likes of Joel Armia, Drouin, Hoffman or Dadonov...

Dvorak and kerfoot considering usage, contract, and teammates have probably identical values. Two 3rds or a 2nd.

Not accurate. One of them gets no power play time. The other one does.
One of them is used primarily for defensive purposes. The other one is the one that you think is worth more.
Aren't facts a bitch?

Go back and look who were Kerfoot's primary linemates whe he got his 60pts season, I'll wait.

A pylon could get 60pts playing with Nylander abd Tavares. Kerfoot is back to his usual 20-30pts career average now.

Montreal is not going into next year with no 2nd and 3rd center, they probably don't want to have that many rookies at the center position. (probably going to leave 1 spot open for a rookie: 2023 drafted player or Beck)

Dvorak is pretty good as a 3rd center, our center position wasn't a weakness (not saying it was great either) at the start of the year when we had Suzuki, Monahan and Dvorak.
They will have until September to find centres. Mybe they keep Monahan or anti up for Dubois. HuGo is not going to worry about centres for 23-24. They aren't going to compete anyway.

Are you serious? You should sue the school where you learned basic arithmetic.
Kerfoot has 206 points in 401 games. That works out to over 40 points per season.
He currently has 19 points in 41 games. That also works out to over 40 points a season.
Kerfoot has spent most of this season on the third line in a checking role.
You are a well known troll on this site who belittles other team's players and adulates Habs players. The reality is that Kerfoot and Dvorak have remarkably similar stats.

Edit: I tried to find whose Kerfoot's primary linemates were in his 60 point season, but he never had more than 51 points. You really should at least try to have some semblance of accuracy.

The pylon never had a 60 pt season. The best he got was 51 playing with those 2.

A potted Ficus would score 20 goals if Marner was feeding it passes.

He’d slot nicely into the 3C role, but not if the price is too high.

If he can go back to out-goaling Marner, like in London, then its just what the doctor ordered.

That was 8yrs ago, and hasn't shown the same thing

Maybe bc the person in question who was feeding him those goals isn't there

He absolutely has shown that he still has that talent, he's played with shit linemates and been leaned on HEAVY to play well defensively. Still has a great shot, and is a good overall allround talent. Doesn't really have any weaknesses. Dunno if he would fit with the leafs, but he'd fit with Marner for sure.

I seriously don't understand why this is so difficult for some leafs fans to understand, like it's mind boggling.

Put Kerfoot on any non top ten offensive team in the league and watch his number dwindle, heavily.

Well, Habs gave up a 1st and a 2nd, which was likely overpayment, but it gives an idea as to his value.

Unless the Habs have re-signed Monahan, Dvorak is a tough one to let go, since it means center slots 2 and 3 have to be filled for next season, and a lot of players will get weird usage in the meantime. Just sayin' Dvorak probably isn't being actively shopped, so the price is still likely to include at least one piece Toronto doesn't want to give up - a 1st, Knies, a couple of 2nds, etc., in addition to some kind of a skater to make the cap work.
Agree that he's likely not going anywhere without an over payment given the lack of clarity at the center position. He's a 3C most places. He won't produce much more than he has given the offensive black holes he's largely been put with. Responsible, strong in the face off circle; he's got value - though not likely as much as was given up to acquire.

Actually, he's been playing out of the top 2 lines this season, mainly with Kampf and Engvall as a defensive 3rd line, and his 5v5 production is still within the range of a top 6 forward, as well as his primary assist rate.

Kerfoot is a 40 point 3rd liner as a base. Put him with Matthews or Tavares and he turns into a 60 point player.
