He wouldn't be enough to drag the habs into the playoffs but he'd help, and he's helping the Kings. Don't get why he wasn't appreciated here. I still suspect that MB got rid of him because he was outgoing with the media and cut into Bergevin's media footprint.

Sure he’d help the Habs get a few more wins, but they are 18 wins out of a playoff spot, no player can make that up.

Danault wanted to leave, he was ready to move on.

Danault wasn’t happy with Bergevin. I don’t know if he was done with the city

While Danault is a good player and a good pickup by the Kings; he is not the difference between the Habs making the playoffs or not this season.
I know that having Danault this year means in no way we can't draft one of Wright, Slafkowsky, Cooley and Nemec. But we can get draft between Savoie, Kemell, Lambert, Yurov, Jiricek and Geekie. There is at least one future good player in that list.

I suspect there has been a bad relation between Danault and Bergevin. What they call "s't'un conflit de personalités, bref y sont pognés une fois". I smell that, lol.

My take as well. I'm generally FAR more lenient on Bergevin than most have been here... but how in the hell can you justify giving Josh Anderson 38.5M over 7 years after ONE goal and 3 assists in 27 games. There is no way any reasonably sane person can argue that Anderson has even a fraction on of the impact on the ice that Danault had.

Yeah, because they were asking him to take 90% of defensive responsibilities on the team at the cost of his offense. In the playoffs he took more defensive faceoffs than any other player EVER since these stats were counted so that players like KK, Staal and Anderson didn't have go near the other team's best players on defense. It's stupid to argue about goals where you're asking him to sacrifice his entire offensive game.

Funny how Bergevin seemed to get that with every good player who wasn’t effusively positive about how great the coach and GM were while saying virtually nothing else, certainly not eating pizza on camera or showing any personality.

Totally irrelevant, I know, all that matters is production and execution on the ice, but man does this guy ever smile? looks like he's always carrying some dark cloud over his head

Bergevin went public (leaked) with Danault's demands back in January last year. Danault was not pleased at all.

DVO seems to be finding his game, Injuries-C-19. Perhaps another casualty of Ducharme Coaching. Digestible Contract., young still, let's see this guy for full season as # 2-3 Centre.

I also wouldn't mind seeing what he can do on the wing - he could be a part of the future there too.

I think we're going to bring in a 2c at some point. I like what I'm seeing from Evans. Dvo's lack of footspeed might hold him back from being a great shutdown C. So, I'm open to seeing him on the wing.

Dvorak into player we traded for. Lately been looking like 2nd line center material

Anderson's contract is ten times better than Gallagher's.

Dvorak had 3 points last night. I don’t know, he doesn’t look like the place to start pointing fingers at and looking to offload for cheap. Let him be the 15-20 goal 40 point center he can be at 4.5.

Could be useful for a season while we wait for youth to mature. I don’t think he is even a fraction as bad as some are drumming up on here.

When Bergevin traded for him there were rumoured other teams interested too. And he plays a position of importance I don’t think Montreal of all places (history of trouble down the middle) is the place to be converting guys from center to wing. He can be a placeholder 2nd line center until we draft one, sign one or trade for one. As of right now I don’t see one in the system.

Looking like MSL had brought this guy out of the darkness so to speak.....
He can be a very useful player, but needs to want to be there.....stay tuned for the offseason.

Go check Danault's stats with the Kings, he is having the best season of his carreer
What? He is having a normal career year. Typical Danault year.

(That quote is about Dvorak.)

No please. Dvorak might be a 2nd liner on a bottom team but he is a 3-4 liner on a top team.

8 points in 12 games is good. But still a small sample size.

It's the defensive side I'm concerned about, due to his lack of footspeed...

Also, Lehkonen, Toffoli, Chiarot, Kulak weren't the worst contracts that we needed to offload. But we offloaded them because no one else wanted many of our other contracts. If Dvo goes, it's because people don't want out other contracts, but we need some capspace.

He's a great garbage man in front of the net, has some size, isn't too slow and can win faceoffs. Good piece with Evans for the bottom 6. If we have to slot him in as 2C, I think he'll be so-so but will be above his ideal spot.

Danault is gone so, I'm not going to spend time debating him...

As for Dvorak, hard for me to say he's not trying or just slow. Not sure why he wouldn't want to be here and/or give a good/different account of himself. I just think he's slow and therefore not very good. He's good at things that don't require skating - faceoffs, in front of the net on the pp, and can handle him self in the corners. Could be a potentially useful winger and pp C, if every team around the league sees it the way you (and I) see it and there are no takers.

It's basically some people looking at dvorak's demeanour and body language, and coming up with their own conclusions. We've heard the same stuff about price since he got here.

It's funny because if price plays well, then the narraitive flips to him just "making things look too easy", or that he's "cool as a cucumber".

That's just the way dvorak's demeanour is whether he scores a big goal goal or is responsible for a game losing turnover.
