Did you see why Evan's and Dvorak were on the ice at the same time?

Was one of them playing wing?

I ask because when we get a 2c (probably in the draft) two of Evans, Poehling and Dvorak will have to play wing if they want to stay in the top 9. I think all three would actually be on the wing.

I think Dvorak was playing with Gallagher and hoffman for the most part. I don't remember how evans ended up. Dvorak would have been playing C.

Perhaps it was Evans who was playing wing and he got into the action in the midst of a line change?

Since MSL, Dvorak has turned into solid player. Made a nice play on Evans goal. Next season Dvorak will put up decent numbers and could bring a Chiarot type return at trade deadline.
Oh I think he would bring a much higher return. He has a 50 points/82 games pace under MSL and it looks really sustainable. If Hughes decides to trade him next season or during the offseason, I'd expect an A prospect and a 2nd or 2 1st round picks

Isn't that what we got for Chiarot? A first, 4th and a prospect

The biggest area of improvement for him under MSL has been in the defensive end.

Under Ducharme, he looked completely lost defensively.. however it wasn't a surprise given none of the players had any idea wtf they were supposed to do in our end.

Since coming back, MSL has shown lots of trust in him in the defensive end and he's done well while also putting up decent point totals.

Dvorak have good year next year. He is much better player under MSL. He was also coming back from that neck injury.

Next year fresh start, Dvorak could score 25 goals. Play solid all around game

Not similar players but reminds me of the days of Danius Zubrus... we wanted so much more from this guy but end of the day, he is just a solid 3rd line centre.

I think the one area where he can see a boost in points next year would be on the PP if we could get an upgrade on our PPQB (such as Letang). Dvorak's excellent on faceoffs which helps us gain control of the puck, and he's good in front of the net at tips.

Suzuki/Caufield are great on the PP and can both shoot and pass, but we've lacked a threat on the blueline as Petry/Wideman haven't cut it. Hoffman could also benefit from a guy like Letang if his job is just to shoot the puck, if we could boost his PP production hopefully it can help us get rid of him quicker.

Caufield - Dvorak - Hoffman
Letang - Suzuki

If he got a good start next year and continue to plays like he does lately, at 4m, he will b evaluable piece at the TDL.

Agreed, he also has a No Trade Clause that kicks in the 2023-2024 season e.g. doubtful he will not be traded before that.

31 points in 55 games are decent numbers. He's on pace for 50 points in full season. Should fetch good return at trade deadline
Points is not everyhing. How do you like the way he is playing. Is he effective and helping his linemates and team ?

Yes, good 26 year old middle 6 center who in the past could keep up with talented guys like Marner but also can take defensive zone faceoffs and play special teams. Very versatile guy to have, especially if he doesn't have to be a 60 point guy.

Until the final year of his contract, he won't be the kind of player who is moved at the TDL. But he could have value if we wanted to move him for a player in a position of need. Problem is, right now C is one of our positions of need. I'd love to make a "free trade" for Dvorak as a 3C by getting a top-6 guy to complement Suzuki.

It may be subtle however Dvorak has increased his PPG total every year in the league. Assuming the horrible first half of the year was an anomaly then he can certainly be a valuable contributor at center where we need depth.

Perfect 3rd line center we need to keep him. What we need is a real top 6 center added to the team. I would move Poehling to Suzuki’s wing

Poehling - Suzuki - Caufield

I would leave these 3 together and let them develop

he will be a valuable piece to keep around

He's just entering his prime, so it's not like he's an older guy who's game will go down, not a game-changing player but I see as a potential middle-6 'stabilizer', the definition of secondary scoring and responsible play.

Team under Bergevin/Ducharme was a mess anyway.

If Dvorak was in Carolina instead of Kotkaniemi he’d be the 4th line centre there. I can’t see him being ahead of Aho, Trocheck, and Staal at centre there.
And with KK he’d be the fifth center. He wouldn’t play top 6 on many teams, he doesn’t have the D to play third line. There’s a reason he had been very available for a long time before MB botched negotiations with two centers.

A 50+ point center who can notch 20 or so goals and be north of 50% on faceoffs has a place on a building team. No question. KK did not come close to that (including this year) and maybe never will.

KK is not even playing center! What a ridiculous post.
