I really liked him last year, this year he just seems disinterested. Its like he and the coaches are an old married couple. No pushing to improve, just accepting it is what it is. Maybe time for a divorce.

Hopefully we dont have to dump another 2nd rounder in the crapper like with Stepan. I think I'd rather tierney center the 4th line than that.

He’s trying to catch Primeau in his left post slide with a flutter to the right side....it looks odd but it’s not a terrible play. If he hit the top right corner he probably scores.

4.2M would become 2.8M over two years play someone on their elc or sign a guy at league minimum you save about 400K USD total and have someone more useful in the line up.

Tierny is not a terrible player, he is a positional player that can pot 30 to 40 pts on a good line, he can play on the PK or on a checking line & can be moved up & down the lineup. Having said that though Ottawa has enough centres to easily replace him & hopefully Seattle takes him in the expansion draft. He won't be bought out & if Seattle does not take him I assume that PD will trade him next season at some point leading up to the TDL.
When Tierny is off the team I would like to see them replace him with Nick Paul at centre & bring up Sokolov if he continues to play well with Belleville next yr. Ottawa lacks depth at RW & he could be a really good bottom six player for this future team who can move up the lineup when required.

Clearly Tierney mistook the puck for a grenade that had the pin pulled 3 seconds earlier. Never seen a player so terrified to hold onto the puck.
You ever wonder why Tierney had such good corsi numbers? Because he takes 0 high risk chances. Still I wouldn't pay a 2nd for Seattle to take him for 1 year....

it’s a terrible play because he misses the net by one kilometer and has the puck on his stick for 1 second before he gets rid of it, even though he has all the time in the world. Just mind boggling

Looks like my takes on Tierney from 2-3 years ago are not that incendiary anymore... Will never understand why we didn't trade him summer 2019 at his peak value. Don't think he has any value left, particulary with a 4.2 salary next season and UFA after that
