Just a remarkable season from a guy who had never even hit 30 before!

The type of season I dreamed about him having following him as a prospect, seeing him play in prep school. Just a beautiful thing to watch.

I find it weird that he was compared to Mogliny pre-draft. I don't think that panned out at all.

Kreider is Mr. Ranger. So many people thought he wasn't signing with the Rangers. He was staying in school for four years and was planning to bolt to the Bruins. The Rangers tried to trade him. Colorado was mentioned at the 2019 draft. The Rangers wanted Newhook or Krebs with the Avs 1st round pick. At the trading deadline in 2020.

Hopefully, Kreider can score six more goals in the next nine games. Beat Jagr's record. That guy is a Penguin.

i thought he would score 50 goals this year so i thought it was a bargain
Yeah, sure you did. :naughty:. Not for nothing, pretty sure I called him getting 50 when he had like 24 or 26, along with calling for his Captaincy when McD got traded. He has become quite the leader, just how he sincerely gives credit to those around him for his season. How about how he didnt ask for the moon so he could STAY a Ranger? Mgmt.did us fans justice by signing Mika and Chris as they are quite the bff's, and it shows on the ice.
Btw, Mika has had a great season as well. Chris couldnt have done this w/o him.

Raise your hand if you thought re-signing Kreider was a good idea.

*raises hand*

Raise your hand if you thought his contract was a bargain.

........
Thought it was a great idea. I was one of the more vocal ones on this Board sticking up for him the last 2 years especially against those wanting to trade him because of the length of the contract and needing money to pay others down the road. What many don't see is besides the talent he is in great shape and he is a leader in the locker room. Sorry the supposed ones you were concerned about paying down the road haven't shown anything Kreider brings to the table and he will stay productive based on his game and the fact he stays in great shape. He may not get 50 goals next year but you can't put a price on the intangibles he brings.

I would not say a bargain because its good money but he deserves it.

I am admittedly eating crow on this one. Thought it was a real bad move at the time to re-sign him. I thought he was too inconsistent and made too many bone headed plays. He has improved tremendously since then and now his contract looks like a bargain. I can admit when I was wrong.

I took a lot of grief in here for wanting to re-sign him when his contract was up. I didn't see him ever getting 50 but I know enough about hockey to understand that his style of play is what you want on your team if you want to win the Stanley Cup.

What a tremendous season he is having. Best net front presence in hockey and the guy has such great chemistry with Mika also. I still SMH at people who say moving him to the 3rd line would be a good idea. 🤣

For the record: The only career Ranger to score 50 was Vic Hadfield. I call him a "career Ranger" because he started his career here without being drafted. The amateur draft didn't start some time until after 1962 if I'm not mistaken. Kreider's 50 magic number means a lot to the organization. A true home-grown player getting to that number is something special.

At the beginning of the season there was a poster who pointed out that the individual that scored our 1st goal of the year, for the past two years, had been traded. I replied "I vote Kreider."
