And yes, I know, someone will throw out Gaborik's name and "but he scored 40 goalzz!!." I know. That's because he refused to play Torts hockey and was eventually ran out of town for it. See: Gaborik benched in ECF for not blocking shot Also See: Gaborik getting traded to Columbus

Gaborik only ever stopped scoring when he was hurt, unfortunately he was almost always hurt. They traded him because they were sick of his constant ineffectiveness due to injury. That's why he lost icetime in last season's playoffs. That's why he played so poorly this year. He's breaking down.

Maybe if the Rangers didn't play the PK for 60 minutes and call that their system, Kreider would score.

I think this has been building from Game 6 and 7 of the Caps series. He has been getting more involved, more aggressive. He is skating better. It was about damn time Torts put him on the PP. And I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet, but he did a heck of a job before John Moore took a stupid penalty. Kreider went to the front of the net, bodied off the defender and passed the rebound back to a wide open Stralman. He needs more PP time. Kreider was effective on the PP at BC. He has a great shot. Let him use it with more space.

I actually think Kreider is the best on the team of using the defenseman. He always gets it down low and gives a nice pass off the boards that the defenseman can control and shoot off of.

dudes going to be real good.. but he needs to learn defense if he wants to play for torts.. he isnt that responsible yet.. i think the same with JT, if they get a full summer training with the boys, a full NYR training camp and the full season they will be a helluva a lot better..

We need Chris Kreider to step up against his childhood team. Come on buddy

He has been skating hard and hitting everything since being inserted back into the lineup. Would love to get him more ice time, but not sure where he fits now. First two lines seem set and the third has become an effective checking/grinder line where I think his speed and offensive potential would be wasted. Liked seeing him on the PP, but didn't like that Boyle (another big body camped out near the net) was out there as well.

I like what I've been seeing from him lately. If he can just use his size and athletic ability, he's going to be a really good player in this league.

Yeah, I've been impressed with his physicality in the playoffs so far. In the first round everyone was talking up Thom Wilson (who I love as a prospect) and what a monster he was and Kreider just ragdolled him when they came together, then the plays with McQuaid and then Chara. I couldn't believe how easily he handled Chara that is a rare occurrence, I thought I was seeing things.

Love the abrasive side, he's a battering ram out there

Chara really did not like getting hit. He took exception quickly. I think that is the way to get Chara off his game. I think his reputation around the league keeps guys from going after him

I mean he is a really big guy etc but Kreider hit him and he didn't like it and then Zucca "hit" him (tangled up in his legs :) ) and he started to lose his cool a little it seemed.

Yep, he doesn't like to get hit. He is used to guys just shying away from him.

"There was a lack of knowledge on how to play a team game," said Gordie Clark, the Rangers' vice president of player personnel. "He was so fast and so strong, he was able to go and do things on his own. There was a lot of projection that had to get done, and one thing that had to get done was, how does he learn to play a team game where you have a job to do?"

No regret on turning pro:

It was a beautiful late afternoon, sunny and clear, the day of the college's commencement ball. Male seniors donned tuxedos. Female seniors wore patterned sundresses. All of them drank cheap beer. Kreider could have been one of them. He seemed not in the least regretful that he wasn't.

"I have 100% confidence I made the right decision," he said. "When you feel like that, I don't think you're thinking about what could have been."

Please, after the way torts has used him this season and called him out in the media, kreider will end his tenure with the rangers when his ECL contract is up and bolt for the bruins.....

Torts will be gone way before then.
His only hope now is to admit he was wrong, capitulate, and LET KREIDER BE KREIDER:D:yo::p::p:

And going forward next season is another question, but considering what a total suck job Richards is, I'm for playing Kreider at C the rest of the playoffs.

Hags CK Cally
super speed line!

Kreider is finally using his speed and size to win puck battles along the boards and you want him to play second line center... Honestly I'm not sure what you're watching. Since our third line plays like a very good fourth line, I have no problem letting Brad try to find a way with Asham's shot and toughness and kreider's speed and forecheck for around 8-10 minutes a game.

I want CK in for more than just 9 or so min per.

The issue, I believe was not winning battles using size/speed, but his D, which is a learning process at the pro level.

Would do well at either C or F, just sayin he'd be an immediate improvement over Richards, who should be benched. As soon as eligible, I'd replace Richards on the roster w/Miller or Lindberg if either is available.

Put him in a top six position and he will score.

Totally agree. Kreider and Stepan have chemistry. I'd love to see them back together, but I don't think Torts will be toying with the lineups too much at this point.

I think Kreider will be a causality of Torts system and will eventually be shipped out. It's a shame, because he has the tools to be a very effective player with the right coaching.

That requires 15-20 minutes of ice and, to be quite honest, Kreider hasnt shown that hes capable shouldering that type of responsibility -- especially in the playoffs?

You wanna do that to start next season? Sure, go ahead
