I have late him late 1st. Not really a believer in term of upside. Could amount to a decent 3rd line center though.
I'm just not seeing the kind of skill plays I want to see from a 1st rounder. He's not really doing anything. Granted Edmonton is a REALLY good team, but Benson is still able to show his skills, as did Savoie in the few minutes he was able to play.

At this point, yeah, he needs a huge growth leap to end up as a top 6 C. 3rd liner is more likely.

Funny, other than Caufield, it seems most 1st and 2nd rounders by Timmins that were liked by the majority of Habs fans (ie Scherbak, Juulsen, De La Rose, Collberg) became duds and the ones that were panned (Guhle, Romanov) seem to be studs.

I'm hit and miss.

Loved Scherbak.
Was meh on Juulsen
Didn't like DLR.
Loved Collberg.
Just wanted a forward instead of Guhle.
I was one of the few who liked Romanov but certainly surprised he went early as he did.

I really don't think Juulsen was a popular choice. I remember being surprised by that pick. Injuries did him in.

And, I don't remember people panning Romanov pick. Majority seemed to be, "who the hell?"

Guhle more controversial, but there were a lot of people who wanted Q guys Mercer, Bourgault or Bourque. All those 3 seem like good picks too.

Ugh Guhle took a cross check to the back and hasn’t been on ice since then… hope it’s just the coach resting him. Fustration is showing, couple of dubious hits lately from both sides

Scherbak was rather skilled, but he never got his skating where it needed to be and had an overall poor work ethic.

Always a boom or bust pick. I prefer that over Chipchura, Vallis, Tinordi picks - REALLY low upside picks.

In the case of Guhle, a lot of people just plain didn't know him. He wasn't even considered a possibility.

Oil Kings win it 7-1 and eliminate Winnipeg. Ghule didn't play the last 8mn of the game (after the hit) but he's on the ice right now for the celebrations, waiving to the crowd so he looks ok.

I think everyone was okay with Juulsen. Maybe some wanted Beauvillier but they warmed up to him quickly.

Romanov was blasted by most, including myself. Guy was rated late 3rd at best. Less about the player and more about the value.
