We are in May. To this day, I'M sticking with Wright. But I always want dynamic players. Especially on our team. And you are not getting that with Wright. So....I reserve the right to wait till draft day to know if I change my mind.

There's a difference between "he's bad" and "he's not as impressive as some previous 1st overall".

Using Suzuki as a comparable actually provide arguments to the latter.

I get Hischier level hype personally. Good player, but not franchise level.

Hopefully I will eat crow.

yea Wright's lack of dynamism and assertion is worrying. He's not going to become an elite NHL player if he doesn't improve in those aspects.

We should seriously consider Cooley at 1st overall.

I disagree with comments saying “he has no shot, can’t skate, etc” but I think what some of us are saying is that maybe Wright should still be our 1st pick but it’s not true that this is a 100% slam dunk decision.

Maybe in the end it’s not enough to justify not picking Wright but they shouldn’t mail in the 1st overall pick “because we was #1 on BOTH Button & McKenzie lists”.

Especially with Wickenheiser choice’s and even Lafleur (they didn’t pick Dionne the center and it paid off eventually even if initially Dionne was producing more).
