What would Flyers needs be? And what is fair value from Hawks for a guy who has shown potential but still struggles with consistency?

Acquiring Frost would improve Hawks C situation and make it so we dont have to rush Nazer into role

Flyers are looking to add a top-6 center themselves. The have zero depth at C, that's why they currently carry Jett Luchanko on their roster.

I actually think part of the issue is Anaheim is trying to play him as a winger…. He’s much more comfortable/better at center.

As a center he has b2b 60+ point seasons(on a very terrible team) which is right on par with a 2c…. Issue is Anaheim for whatever reason refuses to play him there.

He lacks the size/strength and commitment to play the defensive zone as a center needs to is why. No doubt with the puck on his stick he is more dangerous down the middle of the ice, but that is a fraction of time he has the puck like that. Can't rely on him the rest.

No one's giving you that without you giving up something you really don't want to. Rebuilding teams won't, that's someone they build around. Playoff teams could use the cheap productive player too.

If the Hawks traded Frank Nazar (player they picked with the selection they traded Dach for) for a Kirby Dach level player tomorrow, I'd be pretty unhappy with that.

No one's giving you that without you giving up something you really don't want to. Rebuilding teams won't, that's someone they build around. Playoff teams could use the cheap productive player too.

That's still someone not likely to be easy to acquire. That's almost the ideal age range to where both rebuilding and contending teams would be happy to have him. Good enough to help a playoff team win now without adding too much salary, young enough for a rebuilding team to potentially keep around as they get better. That's gonna be an expensive acquisition, because a hell of a lot of teams would want to be in on that type of player.

The more realistic options are younger guys who you think still have that potential (but who have some issues or else they wouldn't be available), or a temporary fix type (older guy or overpaid type).

Well for a team like the Hawks the cap space is not an issue. That would be the main reason a team might trade a player like that in that range, they know they can't afford to keep them. Hawks get a guy, pay him a premium, and hope he gives you a solid 6-7 years of the 8 and by the time the decline starts, the cap is so high he will fit in well as a 3C
