Confirmed Signing with Link: [CHI] Chicago signs Jordin Tootoo (1 year, $750K)

He hits, competes hard, plays physical, gets into scraps and distracts opponents (is a bit of a pest).

He's useful in a limited 4th line role at a basement price, excatly what the Hawks can afford and use.

The Hawks already know what he can do.

When Tootoo is signed for more than the league minimum you know there is something wrong.

Not a very smart move for Chicago, regardless of the salary. The only thing Tootoo brings is penalties. I just don't see him fitting into Chicago's style of play at all.

Jordin Tootoo is a perfect 4th-liner, so I'm not sure what there is to get angry about.

He should've been with the Wings instead of Dan ****ing Cleary.

Perfect 4th liner? Perfect is Matt Cullen who had 16 goals this season. That's a perfect 4th liner, and a player that's still available.

Tootoo will be responsible for more goals against than he scores.

If we find the mean number of goals that an "average" 4th liner scores, I'm pretty sure that 16 is higher.

Whew, exhale. Hes off the market.

Now please take Stephen Gionta somebody.

he is still a useful player on NHL16 for the 16-17 season so why not i guess.

How have the Blackhawks employed both Carcillo and Tootoo on two separate occasions? What's the point?

Cheap players to play the bottom 6 who aren't prospects that either are **** ( Mcneil) or haven't played a single NHL game yet so they can play in the AHL and warm up to not being in the same size range as their college piers (Motte, Schmaltz) or are basically the same play level except with less experience (hinostranza, baun, kero). The only players in rockford that will probably get playing time are Hartman and MAYBE schmaltz and motte towards the end of the year.

Q doesn't want rookies who are learning on the job during the season, he wants players who are ready to step in. hes done it since hes gotten here, and it's worked more times than anyone since the lockout.

Two for Tootoo on a two way or Ruutu for Tootoo ?
Every team still carrying knuckle draggers what a roster spot waste
