The numbers reflect his improving performance. .942 SV% and a 1.52 GAA in the 17 GP since he was returned to Charlotte in January. He has given up 3 goals or more just once during this stretch.

I know a couple of years ago Poturalski got a cup of coffee with the Canes and wasn't particularly impressive. However, the more I watch him, the more impressive he becomes. He's got a very good shot (from the right side). Can he be something more than a AAAA guy?

He is the top offensive player in Charlotte. I also think Saarela is showing both the speed and shot (though from the left) to get another look in Raleigh.

Would be nice If Saarela wasn't the first one sent down from the training camp next year. Kids playing pretty good there in the AHL , and it would be pretty odd if he won't even get a chance to show what he can do.
