Man the Hornets are absolutely cursed. This offseason has gone about as terribly as it could possibly go, after the team seemed to be trending up for a few years. LaMelo probably goes to the Lakers in a few years and wins a few titles there.

I'll put it this way. I don't expect to see Bridges in an NBA uniform again. He may change for the better but it's going to be a PR nightmare for whoever signs him.

Dirk Nowitzki was a "soft euro" for years from the likes of Cowherd, SAS, Kellerman etc. Then he won a championship and everyone loved him.

Exact same bullshit that the Canadian media pulls in hockey whenever they're talking about a high profile player that isn't Canadian. Prime, PRIME example of this right now is the over the top obsession with Kotkaniemi
Don’t the media vote on MVP? And Jokic has won twice?

f*** it I'll play for them. If Nic Batum can scam Jordan out of $120 million then I can get a couple million yes?

On another note Hornets are trying to become a bigger train wreck than the Panthers

Hornets tanking for Wakanmemaba, emba or whatever his name is... I don't know much about him, just that he's been getting hyped up like crazy (and if he really is as good as people think, no chance the Hornets actually get him lol, anyone who has followed this franchise knows that). What I do know though is I see pictures of the dude and I think there's no way he'll last in the NBA; he's like 10 lbs heavier than me and has 13 inches on me, and I'm in good shape with a normal BMI... Seriously, dude's gotta start eating, jesus

Not sure what the hell is going on in Charlotte but its embarrassing…

Good first half in San Antonio so far. We all know how long 21-point leads last in this era 🙄

I have no idea who any of the Spurs are.

Dennis Smith Jr was a good pickup it seems. Low risk high reward. Nick Richards is developing nicely. I'm still not really a fan of PJ Washington.

This really should be a tank year but I fully expect that this team is gonna make the play-in round and get bounced right away again like the last couple years. LaMelo is our only high end starter. I suppose Gordon if he could stay healthy but let's be realistic, he isn't going to.

I'm shocked but it appears Clifford actually has this team playing very very well. Nick Richards is looking like a legit C so far. Pretty much everyone on the team is playing significantly better defensively than last year. They are spreading out the scoring and passing the ball extremely well. Even without LaMelo and Bridges this team has been fun to watch and winning games. Only 3 games in but it appears like it may not be a lost season after all. Can't wait to get LaMelo back and still holding out hope we see Miles play again for this team.

Nets fire Nash and replace him with the dude who was having an inappropriate relationship with a female team member. Nice.

By the way if any of you fine Hoops fans wants to create a 2nd Hornets/NBA thread please do so, you have my blessing. Maybe next one we can get to 1k in 5 years and not 6

That call is amazing. Passion without crossing over into parody.

Eric Collins is the best announcer in the NBA in my opinion, guy is phenomenally passionate at the proper moments and really gets you into the game. It's a shame he isn't calling a much better/more exciting team. Also I like Dell Curry, they have good chemistry and Dell provides solid insight from a former player.

No joke, this is how I started going to Bobcats games. Best part is you can very easily upgrade your seat in these times.

When the Canes were in similar straits, I used to "upgrade" my seats by just walking past the ushers to some of the best seats in the house. Nobody cared.

That kind of luxury goes away very quickly when they start winning again.

Watching Celtics vs Warriors and decided to check up on our regional NBA squad.

7-19. 13th in the weak Eastern Conference.

Hornets are wasting LaMelos youth. I would probably say it's already set in stone that he isn't re-signing anyways but it's possible they win the draft lottery (they're due) and waste this upcoming prodigy that everyone is excited about. Also, the Sacramento Kings are sitting 5th in the West. A playoff appearance from them passes the longest playoff drought torch right here to Charlotte.

Once again, Jordan may have been a great player but he f***ing sucks as an executive.

Completely agree re Jordan. That being said, this team isn't completely without hope. This bad of a record is largely a reflection of the team just not being healthy/available. Gordon has barely played (not a surprise, but that much $ being wasted on a consistently injured player won't be the case once his contract is up soon). Miles obviously has been out all year, but with potential (likely) ability to bring him back at a steep discount for next year. LaMelo has played like 1 or 2 games.

It's actually a perfect year to just throw in the towel on the season like they've been doing following the injuries. Winning the draft lottery could easily change this team's fortunes, pairing generational prospect Wembanyama with LaMelo (and hopefully Miles) to create one of the best young "big 3s" league-wide. And even picking 2nd, 3rd, 4th there will be a great player sitting there.

It's the Hornets, odds are somehow we completely screw it up or whoever we draft is great but gets hurt or something. But there's much more to be excited about right now than many past Hornets seasons...
