I think I can stomach a 1st round bust as long as Yurov hits. Filip Johansson hurt for a few years, but then Boldy got here and no one even talks about 2018 anymore.

Also helps soften the blow that 2018 was a pretty terrible draft after the top-10. Not many players from that draft would be difference-makers on our roster right now. Addison is one of the better players drafted after our first round pick in 2018.

Also true. Obviously way too early to tell, but I wasn't enamored with anyone in 2023 after us either. A few guys I liked, but no one that I felt we really needed like Boldy or Rossi or Yurov.

I didn’t watch him much last year, but at the WJC he was energetic and had some motor. The version I’ve seen at Wisconsin makes Vanek look like a worker bee. Move your feet kid

This is my Stanley cup
He should have had two points tonight. He had a great pass to a guy out front who shot it right into the goalie. That’s two really solid games in a row now for Stramel.

For real though. This is why I said he looks slow before the draft this past summer. Awkward stride doesn’t help any.

Continuing to look good on the wing; a nice pass from behind the net out to his linemate for a shot (saved) and he had a good shot from the left side that was saved as well.

Less scoring chances tonight. He did have the pass that lead to Finley getting a breakaway and subsequent penalty shot goal.

maybe he should’ve considered the CHL - seems a better environment for him to cultivate offensive confidence than the Big Ten.

Disagree. Junior levels teach bad offensive habits that don't work at higher levels. I think it's good that he's working through his struggles at the NCAA level. He's looking better basically every game. Should have had at least an assist on Friday and was the guy who set up Finley on a breakaway where he was penalized, given a penalty shot, and scored.

Oh, and when he moves his feet he actually looks pretty darn fast. That caught me off guard last night.
