I'm so happy for Charlie and especially for me (LOL). I didn't want to even think about possibly losing him. He deserves every penny!!!! Thank you front office, I guess every once in a while you do something good.

You also said he should be fired for not paying him 2.5 million under market value so that’s where I was a bit confused.

I’d like to fire every GM whose agreed to pay +7 to defender or goalie. :D
Market gone totally wrong with d-men and goalies and i’m not fan of it. But thats not players fault.

Fantastic. Love Chucky and I’m sure that this season is when he’ll find that offensive consistency that has been the one thing lacking in his game.

To me, all the big extensions this off-season point toward the teams being quite certain that the cap is going to go up substantially in the coming years. In a couple seasons, 9.5 won’t be as big a deal.

Love charlie but what a rip off. That agent took donny to the woodshed. I'm surprised he buckled. Charlie is solid but not at 9.5 wish it was 8.5.

Your nuts if you think Charlie was not going to brake the bank. I would have paid him 10m.

The Bruins using the "internal" cap days are gone. Your young stud #1 defenseman is the most valuable player on the roster each and every night.

Looking forward to Pasta getting the same deal if he wants to stay after his deal is up.

I’m surprised Marchand and Bergeron haven’t demanded trades yet after McAvoy had the audacity to sign a deal that isn’t 3 mil below market value.

:sarcasm:

Congratulations to Keith Gretzky here lost in all this

he hit big on Pastrnak 2014 & McAvoy 2016 before going to Edmonton

Gretzky oversaw three drafts for the B's, with 2014 first-rounder David Pastrnak (No. 25 overall) currently on the NHL roster. A series of trades left Gretzky with 16 picks over the 2015 and '16 drafts, nine of those in Rounds One or Two.

If he got an extra 1 mil per year, you wouldn't hear me complain. It's not the bargain the first line or even Hall took, but it is a #1D and expected perennial Norris contender on a very fair deal.

2 for 16, not bad.

I was hoping for a team discount to continue recent tradition, but this is a more than fair market value contract. Bruins locked up their stud franchise dman for his entire prime years. We should all be happy.

A rip off? Come back down to planet earth. You're calling a deal that you wish was 1 million difference in cap hit away a rip off? Get a hold of yourself.

You realize the back to back cup champs have a goalie at 9.5 and a defenseman at 7.875. Also have 2 forwards above 8m, with a third starting next year.
