Yes, it is so deliberately drawn that even weaker teams have a chance to move on.Yes! EBEL Teams were in very easy groups.

As a fan of Třinec, I know why he had such bad results from the start of the season and he did not do well in the CHL. He paid for the success of the last seasons, he lost at least 5 important players and another 3 played the Olympic qualification. And it was not yet possible to pass the line-up at the beginning of the season, so the Nestrašil center played the first attack as a wing and it didn't work at all, we lost practically everything in the preparation. It wasn't until the losses in the CHL that Daňo came along, the attacks changed and we play much better. Although overall the team is not as strong as last year, with the current form and line-up we would have a chance to advance. Personally, I regret it more than the failure in the league.5 teams from SHL advanced to playoffs.
2 teams from NLA to playoffs.
3 (!) from EBEL.
2 from Liiga.
2 from DEL.
1 from Czech league.
1 from french league.
The SHL domination of CHL continues.
Klagenfurt only played 4 or 5 guys from their usual every night ICEHL roster... Yes, Donetsk can beat an AlpsHL team, never doubted that.Donetsk won over Klagenfurt away. 1-2. I told you SoundAndFury , do not underate Donetsk...![]()

What a big joke of a draw.
Why on earth does Salzburg and Lukko get so eazy opponents while better teams get so much harder?
Sparta Prague (CZE) vs. Skellefteå AIK (SWE)
Frölunda Gothenburg (SWE) vs. Adler Mannheim (GER)
Lukko Rauma (FIN) vs. HC Bolzano (ICE-HL)
Rögle Ängelholm (SWE) vs. ZSC Lions Zurich (SUI)
Tappara Tampere (FIN) vs. Växjö Lakers (SWE)
Fribourg-Gottéron (SUI) vs. Red Bull Munich (GER)
KAC Klagenfurt (ICE-HL) vs. Leksands IF (SWE)
Red Bull Salzburg (ICE-HL) vs. Rouen Dragons (FRA)
My picks for winners:
Sparta
Frölunda
Lukko
Rögle
Växjö
Munich
Leksand
Salzburg
The only Swedish team that won their game tonight was Frölunda. Not unlikely that Frölunda will be the only SHL team through to the next round, judging by tonight. My prediction:
Skellefteå
Frölunda
Bolzano
Rögle
Växjö
Fribourg
Leksand
Salzburg
And after the first playoff-round, theres no need for me to follow this tournament any longer. Swedes win as allways and its not gonna change anytime in the near future.
I dont know where you got that Bolzano win, but it was like fathers vs. sons tonight, with Lukko obviously the stronger side. As was expected really. My prediction:
Skellefteå
Frölunda
Bolzano
Rögle
Växjö
Fribourg
Leksand
Salzburg

That's brutal.Apparently Mannheim had 8 forwards tonight against Frölunda tonight becose of covid....so basicly a free pass for Frölunda.
Lukko with 11 cases of the rona. So in all likelihood another free pass for Bolzano.
How come? By losing to a team that seems to be roughly equal on paper? One again, Växjö makes a fool of themself. Sam Hallam cant coach internationlly. And people want this clown to be headocach for team sweden.

Theyre fifth in SHL. And as I stated, on paper seemed to be pretty equal. How is Tappare equal to Växjö? Växjö is the best team in SHL.

Nah brah, you definately have those homer glasses on. Tappara has basicly a finnish EHT level defence and very good depth in forwards. And ofcourse as you saw, better goaltending. Besides, some of the guys you listed werent even playing today, what business do they have here. They won the League last season and have by far the best roster.
Kalinins, , Lundberg, Persson, Gynge, Rosen, Holmberg, Rieder, Koivisto, Nättinen are all top level players in Europe. There is no such level of players in Tappara.
