I'll take it. Wanted a second, so the rest is a nice bonus.

I always wonder with deals like this how giving up a 7th gets included. Is Seattle so hard up that the 7th would be a deal breaker?

I'm sure it went more like this...

Team A offer: 2nd + 4th + 7th
Team B offer: 2nd + 4th + 7th
Calgary offer: 2nd + 3rd + 7th

Calgary likely edged other teams with their 2nd or 3rd

Faceoffs literally mean next to nothing.
Jarnkrok has almost identical stats to Backlund; Backlund is infinitely more valuable to this team than Monahan, and a much better overall player.
How are faceoffs irrelevant, the game is about puck possession. Monahan is still going to be playing center when Jarnkrok joins the team, jarnkrok might replace Ruzicka but Monahan isn't going to be moved from the center position regardless of how much you complain about him

But he probably should be. You know, because he's way worse than Jarnkrok.

Tell that to the pk unit when a play develops right off the lost draw.

I'm not talking about Monahan, I'm talking about the importance of faceoffs in general
They might mean something on the PK, but 80% of the game is played at ES. In general, there isn't any real correlation between faceoff stats and puck possession as far as I'm aware.

The faceoffs in each end are important, too

I see a pattern in Calgary trying to sign old Brynäs players (Markström, Lindholm and Järnkrok), this must mean Jakob Silfverberg and Johan Larsson are next in line. Or Ekholm on D.

Järnkrok and Lindholm are really close by the way (more like brothers than cousins as Calle said). Could lift both of their games being on the same team. Good acquisition.

He's really improved dramatically as the season progressed so Calgary is getting him at exactly the right time. Wish him well.

I am sure Sutter has some input in who he wanted and they got their guy before the deadline. That's why Tre paid more.
They want Lindholm to be happy, they main reason for this trade I guess.
They are cousins and call themselves "brothers"

Backlund is our best or second best PKer. With identical face off stats as Jarnkrok.

The only time faceoff stats become something worth monitoring, is when guys hit the Bergeron plateau and they’re winning 65%+. The difference between a 52% and 49.8% player are absolutely negligible.
