Well maybe he'll be a better playoff performer for the Flames than he ever was for us. Don't get me wrong, we still liked Jarnkrok overall... he played up and down the lineup in whatever role was asked of him, and did a pretty good job in basically all those spots. He was still great value for that contract he signed overall.
Just... I would never have given up anything for him specifically in the context of being a trade deadline rental for the playoffs. He always found a way to completely vanish in the playoffs for us. He's a very soft player, and you don't mind that so much in the regular season, especially if he's still playing a good 2-way game overall. But in the playoffs he just seemed far too timid and ineffectual. I wouldn't have taken him back on our team for free if it was just for playoff purposes. Sorry.

As a longer term player to continue his regular season utility role, sure, he's a decent player. But not as a deadline rental, no thanks.
