Like a sucker I watched the second half. You can’t find any other way to lose games anymore. Fold this franchise, fire all the staff and start over with an expansion draft

Meanwhile in Edmonton they are playing in front of tens of fans, with the draw being an inflatable dinosaur at the coin flip.

Bush leagues would blush at this.
Sustained losing is disastrous for any team (unless you own the Edmonton Oilers whose fans stuck through more than a decade of mediocrity). Unfortunately the Elkimos have been a sustained gong show on field and off it with a bush league board of directors sailing them into the iceberg. Edmonton is such a strong CFL market that one has to think there are enough fans that will return if the on field product can get it together.

The Riders have been struggling a bit at the game. Halo effect of a new stadium has worn off, a couple years of incompetence on field, and some price gouging related to fan experience. 'The guys definitely deserve it': Riders head coach calls out fans ahead of next home game

Tricky times for this league as a Canadiana heritage brand struggling to sustain itself in a modern world of choice.
