I got tickets to the home opener. I am willing to eat the cost and not go if they decide not to move the game.

Can't see why it wouldnt be moved to like 2pm.

2pm start time according to Global News.

Not to nit pick here - but that doesn't necessarily give people a ton of time to get home for Oiler puck drop.

1 would have made more sense for a ton of reasons, but beggars can't be choosers I guess.

Lots of time if you live in Edmonton and choose wisely for transportation. That said, the LRTs may be complete chaos if people are also heading downtown for the watch parties at Rogers. Let's hope they get the watch party at Commonwealth set up like they are trying.

Puck drop will likely be closer to 6:30 by the time they do player intros and the 2 anthems.

Yes and no. Like you said, LRT and other public transport options will be chaotic, and parking at the stadium is more or less non-existent necessitating a 15-30 minute walk to the car before a 15-45 min drive home depending on where you live. Will probably be somewhat tight for folks with even the most efficient travel experience home.

Avoid the LRT when leaving the game.

Ealey, A. C. Leonard and Jake Ceresna all gone from the D-line. A lot of Canadian grown beef incoming to take their places --we shall see what the results are--not a ton of experience.
Not sure that will hurt us a whole lot. Ceresna tends to pile his sacks against weak offensive lines and then disappear against the good ones. A.C. had some great plays but was very inconsistent. Don't know a lot about Ealey.

On the eve of regular season where hope spring in Riderville and across the league.

I'm in Show Me mode for the Green and White. But like some of the moves they have made and expecting a ball control game with their new ground and pound running back. Like they have moved on from last years QB's with Shea Patterson and Jack Coan moving up the depth charts as #2 and #3. Curious about Alberta kid Ajou Ajou who dropped as a late CFL draft pick after so much promise as a Clemson WR and a couple other programs.

Game 1 against the Elks sets the season tone for both franchises (gulp)...

we've actually had decent success running the ball against Sask the past few years, especially KB, Corny, and Tre

word is on the other forum that the Oilers' nixed the possibility of a watch party at Commonwealth after the Elks' game
In years past I would've hated the Oilers for doing this, but unfortunately it makes sense this year.

"We're a dysfunctional hot mess of an organization... Can we leech off your hard-earned success and Stanley Cup Storyline to get some extra tickets sold on our behalf?"

Even when the Esks had their GC run 10 years ago, they were already terribly mismanaged behind the scenes. Hard to see how they can ever overcome where they are now.
