It’s not just an experience thing, it’s a maturity thing
Bingo.

These guys want all these awards, and stats, and personal acolytes, but none of em want to be a dog and grind and win a championship. Until that mindset of ME turns into WE, the Celtics ain't winning shit.

The annoying part is now we have to hear the whole 'would the Celtics have won if Tatum didn't get injured on the first play' crap all off-season.

They got rattled from the Tatum injury and Tatum was a complete liability hobbling around for 40 minutes.

You’d hope your other players could lead from that point on, but I don’t think many teams in the league are winning a game 7 with their best player on 1 leg.

It was even more noticeable on defense. Once the heat realized he couldn’t move they targeted him the entire 2nd half

Blowing it up would be the dumbest thing they could do. Trading Brown is something they can potentially do but i think they need to do everything to go get them another star that can handle the ball well through traffic. It would move Brown into the 3rd star of the team territory and a more off ball role where he would excel. Brown is at his best when he's shooting off the catch or after only a few dribbles.

Celtics have 84 million in non Tatum and Brown roster players they can use to match salaries for anyone in the league and their first round picks in 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2029. I don't know if they can trade the 2028 pick swap but if they can then they have that as well. They are in a great spot to add that 3rd star if Stevens is aggressive while maintaining some depth unlike what the Suns did with KD

Damian Lillard wanting to go to a contender is what the Celtics need

And you are going to give up what to get him? 4 picks and flotsam and jetsam to match salaries Or are you going to do Brown for Lillard? The Celtics are in an odd position, as their picks at least in the near term are poor, and they have no interesting young players.

If the Blazers trade Lillard it would be them tearing the team down. Any two of Smart, Brogdon and White with a Danilo Gallinari opt in matches Lillard's salary, then you have six first round picks to trade.

I wouldn’t say that, I think they absolutely want to grind and I think they absolutely want to win a championship. It’s just natural maturation I’m talking about- I’m very different at 31 than I was at 25. Less prone to reckless behavior, more understanding of what I need to do to be successful

Varies person to person just the same as players, some peak early, some later.

I was spared watching the game as I was working Game 6 in Dallas.

Tatum rolling his ankle in the first 30 seconds set the tone

The bottom line is the Celtics LOST 3 home games to the Heat and won 2 in South Florida ( sound familiar Bruins fans? )

I feel that. But we're not professional athletes. When you have Caleb Martin out shooting you. Giving everything he has. There is no reason why the Celtics players can't do the same. It's like they cant get out of their own way. Is it ego? Idk. But something has to give.

The Celtics are a playground team and not coachable.

The 3 point shot changed the game and maybe it needs to be looked at again.

I 100% agree, @Fenway

It was like watching rec ball. All season long. Idk what the solution is going forward.

On the one hand, the NBA is a talent driven league. I’m hesitant to blow it up and do anything drastic for that reason.

But at the same time, the path could not have been set up any better for them with Milwaukee going down in Round 1.

Not sure what you do.

Pierce is better than Tatum and way better than Brown. Not a fan of paying Brown that deal at all. let someone else
Agree here

When you are reliant on 3 pointers there really is no momentum game to game

The Final score was surprising not the Victor

Miami getting 8.5 this game had to make people who know these teams drool

The easy move is to fire Mazzulla, but then you’re looking at your 4th coach in 4 seasons.

Even the 90s Bruins can’t match that number.
Yes - they just don’t go inside enough

Brogden injury killed them - that’s his game

Mazzulla is young and don’t forget first guy Ainge asked to speak to was him when he went to Utah

Mazzulla will be fine - smart guy made mistakes but so did Ted Lasso and tomorrow we find out if he won Premier League

I keep Joe and try and find a Kevin McHale type to play the 4 who can get you 20/10 be an outstanding defender and offensive presence and rebound-machine inside

All they really need
