not really a surprise given the low expectations coming in to the year, the recent history and that is' college football season. We may not like it but that does impact the early part of the year. I think it's more the expectations and nothing to draw fans in this year beyond a new coach and GM and no one knew how that would impact this team. Attendance will pick up in December and beyond.
Even more so if they can somehow remain somewhat competitive.

When KJ returns, we’ll already have two guys in the press box (Labanc/JVR/ZAR, and Harris/Johnson). No reason to let pyyhtia sit as a 14th forward if he can go to Cleveland.

Man, I get Sillinger Olivier JVR would be slow as shit but I would love to see Chinakhov with Fantilli and KJ. That line would bring it all.

listen, i love olivier, he's a great tough guy and has grown a ton of as a hockey player. great in the room, too. would love to keep him around for the right price.
but he's shooting 30% so far this season. he's the kind of guy who teams overpay for via trade and overpay to keep when it comes time to sign them.
i'm not saying they should trade him, but until he signs an extension, as a pending UFA on a hot streak he is absolutely someone they should take calls on.

overpay meaning more picks that could ultimately mean nothing. I don't even care about the goals, he brings a bunch of things this team lacks

I don't think it would be insanely stupid. Might not be the smartest idea to trade him, but he is a UFA after this season, if the team doesn't plan on resigning him, may as well get something for him

Obviously, signing Olivier to a good extension should be the goal but if nothing can be done there then getting a Jeannot size haul for him isn't a terrible option. We don't have a second for the next two years.
