Fwiw, Saginaw is hosting the Memorial Cup in May-June...
The city/area has a pretty “storied” hockey history, and it’s awesome that we got the tournament, I’m just still quite fascinated they actually gave it to my beautiful hometown. Don’t go to games or follow the team or OHL other than some of these prospects, but, it will be pretty cool for the city and hopefully I can get to a couple games.

The trade is interesting, I wonder if the plan is for him to play in the Mem Cup.

Saginaw in the Memorial with Lalonde. Jesus H hockey stick. Against maybe Halifax, maybe Ottawa and all those killers in the WHL.

Who are you!? Being Michigan’s only CBJ fan is MY schtick!!

Help me understand this as I’m clearly missing something. DBB is currently in Cleveland so how does this work for Saginaw?

Saginaw would be a great team for LDBB to play for and there isn't much playing time to go around in Cleveland.

I'm fine with his development program in Cleveland, but if they want him in Saginaw later in the year that also sounds good. I love a prospect overcooking in junior.

Is anyone else having problems with the elite prospects site? It won't let me access the in the system page any longer where you can see all the CBJ prospects at once.

And then 48 saves shutout. 95 saves and one goal let in in 2 games...
Oh well we will have to trade him. 🤣

Seems Ivanov has won the starting job. While it's a tight race he currently leads the league in Save Percentage at .939 (six goalies over .930) and 9th in GAA at 2.10. All this on the worst team in the league!

I went to check on SKA and CSKA to see how it's going and neither Makarov nor Demidov are even in the lineups.
Ivanov got moved to the worst team just he could play.
That's crazy. No wonder so many guys come here.

He can be sent to the OHL and still play if that was a pathway CBJ felt was worthwhile for his development. I believe he would need to be there by January - or shortly thereafter. So his path would be a direct shot to the memorial cup and possible playing time (he's not a daily fixture in Cleveland). There is a chance he could be sent to the OHL so a conditional 15th round pick amounts to nothing but could be well worth the risk for them if he's sent back.

I hope it doesn't come to this. He should play more in Cleveland especially if he's expected to move up someday.

Don't necessarily disagree but I also don't think it's bad for a 20 year old to get actual playing time and play in high end Jr. events like the Memorial Cup. I don't think he'll be sent to the OHL but it is an option. And I wouldn't hate it

My thing is would DBB make a difference. When was the last time a host team won?

Its kind of weird to have this anyway. 3 teams work their butts off to get there and a team pretty much buys they're way in. Yes I said buy. Money makes the world go 'round.
