Would be a massive failure if both the NHL and AHL clubs miss the playoffs. You really need at least 1 to be decent at all times.

I noticed earlier in the year the the bad clubs were bad at both levels. At least in our case the injuries seemed to be a big factor. We called up Cleveland's top players and then they went into a tailspin in the middle of the year.

Also did anyone else get the vibe that we were dumpster diving with Cajan and Greaves, two middling junior goalies? It used to often be the case that AHL clubs would have a veteran in net but maybe not anymore. The league is younger than it used to be.

Oh boy, didnt even check the standings. Assumed theyre in because of how they made Sillinger available for AHL playoffs

It is sobering to look at where they are in the standings. They're waaay back. My only hope is that, other than Toronto and Hershey, their remaining games are mostly against teams that frankly don't seem all that impressive record-wise, despite where they are in the standings.

Corson Ceulemans to play his first pro game tonight in Cleveland! Sounds like it will be televised on Bally Sports Great Lakes (Cleveland).
Pretty excited to see this kid away from Wisconsin. Probably wont get much PP time with Jiricek there but hopefully he gets a bit of a look.

That’s great! I have no idea if Malatesta will become an NHL regular but I do know I love his feistiness on the ice. He’s a tough kid.

Yeah I don't know. If he makes it it will be because of his feistiness because skills and hockey IQ aren't going to help him. He's fast, has a good shot and he brings a lot of energy. Maybe as a 4h liner, PKer...

Dumais is clearly too good for the QMJHL. Is there any chance he could surprise and make the team similar to how DeBrincat made the Hawks in his D+2 season?
And put him where? Id be too fearful of another Sillinger situation but he'll get stuck playing less than 10 minutes a night if things go south and would end up back in junior anyway.

Especially if Larsen is the coach. Keep Dumais away for now.

If he’d be willing to go to Europe, I’d like to see him explore that.

If not, I think he’s stuck another year down there with a trip to Cleveland when he’s done

The real question is if Halifax would allow him to leave and thats very likely a no. Its basically QMJHL or NHL.
Not ideal situation for him next year. Also, a trip to Cleveland might also be impossible as his team is one of the best in the CHL this year and will likely be even better next year. They will likely build a team to try to win it all next year, so his playoff will not be over unless they do really really bad.

I would see the team giving him a few games at the beginning of the season, but it will depends on his Traverse City Camp and real exhibition games in the real camp. But as someone mentioned above, there is also a lot of new prospects coming up.

Those prospects are tough to deal with I find. I would not want him to go through a situation like Shane Wright and Guenther this year. I think the World junior was great for them, but sitting most of the games in the stands at the beginning of the season is probably not the best development.
