Svozil talking about the camp and what aspects of his game CBJ wants him to improve and focus on this year (spoiler alert: there is only one):
"Obviously I wanted to stay in the camp as long as possible, but I knew that if they sent me back to the juniors, I would play a lot, which I wouldn't have in the AHL. With Sam Kňažek and David Jiříček, we thought that there would be thirteen defenders on the farm, so it would be difficult to get through. In the end, the advantage is that I can spend another year in the junior team," he realizes.

When asked what separated Svozil from the NHL or AHL this year, he answered clearly: "They said I needed to get stronger. That was actually the only observation from them.'
About a week after the start of the camp, the players completed all kinds of tests, and Svozil discussed this topic with the coaches.

"The tests show how you are doing. They didn't turn out badly for me, they just see the reserves in the force," he admits.

"Other than that, the rookie tournament in Traverse City went well for me, the preseason game with Buffalo went well, and overall I think I played well at the camp," he thinks, adding again, "I just have to get stronger."

The year will thus build strength, not forgetting the improvement of other pages. "NHL preparation showed me that I can definitely improve in defense. But it wasn't really bad, I can definitely see an improvement compared to last year," he claims.

Is he inadvertently suggesting that Jiricek is going to Cleveland?

As part of his five part series called "the gifted" about the NHL's most fascinating and quirky prospects, Scott Wheeler just did a fairly in depth analysis with plenty of video highlights of Corson Ceulemans. Admittedly he did not love CC the first two times he saw him play (early in his AJHL career and early in his Wisky career) but likes him now.

Sounds like CC is an aggressive player who skates well for a kid his size. Definitely a risk taker and to me the highlights shown he enters the OZ like a forward. This worked in the AJHL and is now working for him in the NCAAs, will be interesting to see if it works for him in the pros or if he has to modify his game. But sounds like Wheeler thinks he can make those modifications if needed and thrive in the NHL.

With the positive vibes it was an enjoyable read.

Wonder how many pounds that muscle weighs and how not believable that ends up being.

Malatesta’s game last night (2nd slide)

Note : The first two players he hit are 6'06 and 6'05

And the goal

This kid has grit. I liked him last year at Traverse City and have enjoyed watching him this year in scrimmages and preseason play pesky, tough hockey. I don’t know of he’ll ever be an NHL player but I like him.

Not deleting...but m y bad...was off one year on Chinny's draft year. The comment about Svozil moving up a round still valid though.

I realize Chinny is perhaps no longer a "prospect" but this seems like an OK place to put this. Pronman just did his 'redraft article for the 2021 draft'. He listed 127 players which is four rounds.

Chinny is not listed in the top 127. I know he's not simply being anti-CBJ because he had Silly, KJ91 and CC pretty close to where they were drafted (maybe up or down a couple spots) and Svozil actually up an entire round from 69 to 37.

But no Chinny in the top 127? I know he never liked where he was drafted but he really thinks there are found rounds of prospects better than Chinny?

I ditched my Athletic subscription not too long ago so can't see myself but if it's part of a re-draft 'series' Chinakhov could be in a 2020 redraft article which would remove him from being part of the 2021 redraft article?

We drafted him in 2020 as an overager. He was eligible for the 2019 draft. So he shouldn’t be in the 2021 redraft. My question is where would he go in a 2019 redraft.

It's ridiculous to be redrafting any class earlier than 2018 right now. The pandemic threw the development of everyone younger than that into pure chaos.
