Chimera didn’t start having a Chimera-like niche until his second org so you may be right that it’s “out there.” And really he didn’t become fully Chimera until this next club after that.
Yea, bottom six guy, stupid fast skating with no hands and could play PK, still up in the air if he'll be offside as much

Very unlikely.

Holding him back is his offensive ability. He’s a world class skater. He’s a decent defender, and he’s smart. He will carve out a bottom 6 role in the nhl if he can stay healthy. That was not the case last year. I don’t know if his future is here but I still see him as a bottom 6 guy.
Thanks for all the replies. I wonder if a deal that could work for both teams is Kaut for Foudy. Seem to be at similar stages in their careers, both likely without a future with their current team. Foudy's skating also suits the Avs style and his little brother is already in the system

Foudy for Kaut just seems like a lateral at best move that doesnt do anything for Columbus. With Foudy you can atleast see his floor and can argue he should have been given more of a chance. I dont know what Kaut will be

I think Kaut would be useless for us. He's not TOP 6 player and we have better players for bottom 6. On the other hand, Foudy can play in the bottom 6.

As I recall, Kaut is a wing isn't he? If so, there is little to no chance a trade like that would take place. CBJ is full of wings at the NHL and prospect level. Our big mantra this off season is using the excess/strength to try to upgrade elsewhere so this doesn't seem like a fit. I understand the thought process but think Foudy has much more value to CBJ than Kaut would.

In case you've been wondering what KJ13 does in his off-season

Edit: this was from last season. Don't know why it was just reposted.

This channel actually has that league's full games from this summer. Not clipped in to highlights unfortunately

Oh yeah... I'm that guy! Draft isn't even done and I'm looking at the top end of our prospect pool and young NHL group and feel pretty good balance and high end upside across the board. The biggest issue I see is the "IF" factor. This is going to be a fun exercise when we start our prospect ranking. I'm sure we'll (certainly sure I will :D ) provide our latest greatest at the conclusion of today's activities. This is a very bright outlook for a team with a ton of prospects, players not at their prime or just opening the door to their prime. Let the discussion reset! ;)

Very much reminds me of the 2015-16 area. Where the jackets had tons and tons of kids on the way. This was the group of kids who would win the Calder with the monsters.

This new crop isn’t exactly ready for that yet (most will be going to juniors) but in a year or two out prospect pool/Cleveland is going to look better than that group. Assuming these kids hit, we’re going to be very good in the not too distant future.

I also keep having to remind myself that not all will hit but you need a lot of swings to hit and the misses will happen. Just can't have the dearth of talent we had until that Calder group. Team has never truly been built and I hope that's what we're seeing now. From what I read and hear (pods) the talent in the pipeline is legit and has high end upside across the board. Need them to develop and hit and we may be a very happy fan base for quite some time to come. This also will include a huge get next year as that top end appears to be absolutely loaded. Here's hoping they can land yet another 2023 1st. Then start moving the chips around. Big year for the NHL group this year. Exciting.

One night took me from moderately excited about our forward prospect aged guys and so-so on the defensemen in that age group, to higher on our defensemen prospects than our forward prospects.

Part of that is the fact there's just fewer defensemen on a roster and 2 guys truly can make that difference but still I'm so satisfied with getting Jiricek and Mateychuk. I'm especially excited about Mateychuk, I think Jiricek is the probably the better prospect but I'm such a fan of how Mateychuk plays. We got two true aggressive minded activators who project to help tilt the ice alot.

With where the league is going, having defensemen who can get the puck up ice and help win the possession war is becoming a requirement for contending. I think both of our newest defensemen fit that mold perfectly.

Trying out hockey nicknames for our new boys.

Dolzhenkov = Donkey
Jiricek = Checker
Mateychuk = Chucker
Dumais = Doomer
Del Bel Belluz = Bell Biv Devoe

:laugh:

So looking at the World Junior Tournament in August, the CBJ should have a few guys playing:

Czech
Jiricek
Svozil
Rysavy*

Canada
Ceulemans
Mateychuk*
Del Bel Bulluz*

Slovakia
Knazko

Finland
Pyyhtia

No Russians allowed right?

One day I hope to hear Rimer call a Jackets breakaway against Detroit where Ole Julian Bjørgvik-Holm passes to Luca Del Bel Belluz who dekes Shai Buium and passes to Yegor Chinakhov who buries it in the corner to beat Alexander Nedeljkovic.
