Wisconsin lost today to Notre Dame which should end their season, they needed a B1G tourney run to make the NCAA tournament.

Corson Ceulemans finishes with a team high 22 points in 33 games. What a year for the freshman.

Is he allowed to sign a PTO with Cleveland and keep eligibility?

You cannot sign a PTO and go back to NCAA. Usually AHL PTO is to avoid NHL ELC years being burned.

There is an ATO contract type, which also would end Ceulemans’ NCAA eligibility… but I do wonder if maybe that rule could change in the future with NIL being a thing? Maybe structure the contract so they don’t get a salary, but they get endorsement deals?

I think we had Marchenko's contract status pretty well nailed down, and SKA has been punishing him all season for having plans to come over, so I'm only worried about him if this starts extending into "no work visa for you" type reprisals. Hopefully something similar applies to Voronkov.
I think this feels way bigger than hockey and visas. This thing feels like it's going to be very hard to get into or out of Russia for the foreseeable future.

If I was a Russian hockey player in the US, I wouldn't plan on going home this summer if I intended to return anytime soon.

Nobody punished him. His spot was simply taken by Nikita Gusev, who came back from Toronto. There are other players in the bottom 6.

I don’t think anyone has mentioned Jet in this thread of late but the kid must be playing with some confidence. 4-0-1 in his last five stopping 142 of 149 shots. That’s a .953 save percentage and 1.38 GAA.

I know he’s not a traditional prospect going undrafted after a less than eye popping Juniors career but many could argue Kivy did not take the traditional route as a prospect either and he was on the verge of getting his NHL opportunity as a regular backup this year.

interested to see how he plays the rest of the way down the stretch. More Jet and less Cam please.

Kent Johnson Diary, Part 5: Disappointment in Beijing, but Big Ten and NCAA challenges awaits

The absolute last thing I want to read about Kent Johnson is that he's not eating. Ha!

“The food wasn’t the best, for sure. It was a little tough They had a lot of options in the dining hall, but the meat wasn’t really cooked too well. If there was one complaint it was probably that. We had apartment suites. I roomed with Owen Power, Mason McTavish, Landon Ferraro and Eric O’Dell. I guess it’s because I was a late add on the roster, but I was actually on the floor of the living room with some mattresses. But I really didn’t care. I was just happy to be there.”
“I made sure I knew what everything was before I ate it. I tried some different meats, but I don’t really remember anything too… Well, one night the meat was duck. It was actually pretty good. Well, it was all right. It was good for the food that was there.”

Make that 5-0-1 in his last six after stopping 32 of 34 shots against Wilkes Barre...a team Cleveland never beats. That's now 174 of 183 for a .951 save percentage and 1.47 GAA.

"I see your mouth watering!"
