I liked Knazko a lot, smooth, very good passing under pressure, he had an assist, it's just a pity that Martin Chromiak missed after his perfect pass. And we have to take into account that Slovakia has the youngest team in the tournament. Of course, there were mistakes, but that's normal at this level, especially if you don't have players in front of you, or can regularly play a positional game.
I want Juraj Slafkovsky in the 2022 draft. He would be better than Marchenko or Chinakhov.

EDIT: Samuel Knazko pass on Martin Chromiak. I`m afraid, Martin missed.

The more I watch him the more I see a future Dmitri Orlov type defenseman.
I can see the similarity too but in my view technical fluency in both skating and stickhandling is not at same level as Orlov, I think he's closer to Kris Russell in that regard. Certainly won't mind though if he's going to pull off moves like that while playing for CBJ.

BTW to Svozil, Czechs don`t quite like his play because they said he played too individually, made up stupid stuff in the game against Germany.

I watched the game in the GDT with Czechs and there were some saying Svozil was their MVP. He seems to be by far their best player.

I hear more complaints about Knazko from Slovaks.

I didn't watch this game so I can't critize him only said what Czechs wrote. Knazko... he played very good against USA but I don't like his play against Sweden. He must be more agressive especially around the boards. Samuel was soft. Although he has very good vision, transition. I'm interesting how he will play against Russia.

They didn’t credit Svozil, but I think Panarin learned this move watching Svozil.

Rangers' Artemi Panarin scores goal with sick move

Artemi Panarin had been watching kids at the World Junior Championships, before it was canceled on Wednesday, and other young players attempt this move.

So over the last three practices, the Rangers star winger began to work at it.

“I just [asked] why am I not doing that?” he quipped.

I’ve been watching him this year and I really think he’s being slept on. His production (team lead in points) as a freshman defenseman is trending towards elite territory. Right around where Makar and Fox were…

“the forgotten” prospect that might end up being the best of the bunch! Is this McDonalds bc I’m loving it?

Was he talking about that move in particular? Toe drag through the legs is like the one move that everyone on my men's league team can do. It is the only "move" that I can do.

I know plenty of people that can do it. It is the first real trick my kid learned to do. But can you do it full speed against a good defender and then get a shot off? Because that is what Svozil and Panarin both did. I don’t remember Panarin ever doing it in Columbus. Maybe Panarin is so good with the puck that he never really thought he needed to go between his legs until watching the World Juniors.

The last Blue Jacket I remember doing it was when Wennberg did it against Tampa.

We've had a lot more than that.

Texier did it just a month ago, on the short-handed goal when he walked Stone.

Edit: Incidentally it is the #22 play of 2021 according to Sportsnet.

Haven’t really watched any in game play or many highlights, but, looking at his current offensive production as a freshman D man, is interesting. Looking at his assist numbers in relation to the other players/forwards, it’s clear he “drives” the WI offense, or at the very least has a impact setting up many of their goals.

With Werenski, Boqvist and Bean around though, my question is, how is his DEFENSE??

Looking at his last full year in the AJHL in 19-20, where he played a chunk of games less than most players, he was 2nd on his team in PIMs. So it seems, like a Peeke, the willingness to play physical is there. The question is if the physical play is used at the correct times, and just how good is his defensive execution, things Peeke has extreme problems with at the NHL level.

What games are you watching ? Gavrikov and Peeke are the best DEFENSE FIRST defensemen on CBJ.

I was very disappointed in Knazko’s performance. I have seen very little growth in his game from when he played at the WJC as a 17 year old to his play as a 19 year old. If we are ranking how our defenders did at the tournament I’d have him 4th behind Nemec, Stacha and Petrovicky. I guess I’m expecting too much, but he’s our only drafted defenseman and made numerous mistakes, one of which cost us a goal against the USA. The only time he looked good was in easily situations, aka the powerplay. And even than he can’t shoot, so he gets into these positions but can’t do anything with it. I can’t say I’m surprised, he’s been in the Finnish u20 league for like 3 years straight. That says enough.
