I don't think it has been posted yet, but everything I've read so far indicates that Kole Sherwood has been impressive for the London Knights in their camp.

Brendan Ross- a hockey scout on twitter said that Kole Sherwood has been "the most impressive player in camp" even with Matthew Tkachuk there (projected 2016 1st round NHL draft pick). Apparently has the opportunity to play on their top line with Marner.

A moderator on the London Knights HFBoard (PhylerPhanatic) posted "best player on the ice...get him the right line-mates and he'll pot 40. Already possesses an NHL wrist shot."

If these reports are semi-accurate- I can see why Columbus didn't hesitate to sign him after their prospects camp.

I would imagine Sherwood is eligible for the WJC...Is there any way he can sneak onto the US roster with a good season?

I don't see any chance to make the team USA for Sherwood in this season. Even if imagine he will destroy OHL in the first months of the season. He was not among 22 forward in the Nat. Jr. Evaluation Camp. The USA forward group id really deep this year, even without Eichel.Almost certainly 13 forwards for WJC will be selected between Matthews, Larkin, Tuch, Milano, Tkachuk, Boeser, Eansor, Bracco, White, Bjork,Bittner, Dvorak, Connor, Foley, Schmaltz and Roslovic.

Yes, it's impossible for a guy who has a great early season to make a team that, nobody had on their list in the summer. Particularly if one of those guys gets injured. Not to mention that one of them isn't even a forward.

Every year, there are guys that aren't on the radar this time of year that beat out players that are more highly touted. To say it's impossible is an unfair assessment -- especially if he paces himself for 40 goals, as suggested possible above.

Anything can happen.

While the CBJ prospects are out there in Traverse City partying, horsing around, someone out there at the same time is working hard, someone is getting smarter and someone is winning. Just remember that.

Nutivaara has clocked 18:41 minutes on average so far this year in Finnish SM-liiga. He does just not want to be a Finnish champion.

Yeah i heard traverse city was treated like a kids tournament where everyone was a winner because they had fun.
Some of these prospects are using this as an extra shot to show management what they have and what competetive player doesnt want to win any game they play and get better? Just remember that.

I'm trying to create a spreadsheet including every player under some degree of Blue jackets control. Is there anywhere to find a complete list of who's under contract and who the Jackets have rights to but have not signed to an ELC yet?

Also, I'm working on another spreadsheet seprating the camp roster between surefire Jackets, guys just in C-Bus until Monsters camp opens, guys on the borderline between the two, and those who will go back to their amateur or European team (unless they make the CBJ roster, of course). Does anyone know which guys in camp are in the latter category? I'm going through the forwards and I know that Bittner, Plletier, and Kolesar are ineligible to play in the AHL this year and that Sherwood will be in London. I'm also assuming that Hannikainen will go back to Europe if he doesn't make the NHL roster.

Thanks in advance for any info/help anyone may be able to provide.

Jackets Woodchuck- I can answer to the best of my ability-
A site that is sort of like "capgeek" is nhlnumbers.com, lists contract years, salary cap, and signed prospects/minor players. It however does not list unsigned prospects. I believe the common rule of thumb with some exceptions is 2 years for CHL drafted players, 3 years from the European ranks??, 4 years NCAA route
2013 signed- Wennberg, Rychel, Heatherington, Bjorkstrand, Moutrey unsigned- 6th round pick- Markus Soberg (1 more year). 7th round pick- Peter Quennville (2 more years)
2014 signed- Milano, Siebenaler.. unsigned- 2nd round- Ryan Collins (3 more years) 3rd round #1- Elvis Merzlikins (I think 2 more years), 4th round Julien Pelletier (1 more year), 5th round Tyler Bird (3 more years), 7th round Olivier Leblanc (1 more year).
2015- signed Paul Bittner, UDFA Sherwood.. unsigned- 1. Werenski (4 more years), 1. Carlsson (3 more years??), 2. Stenlund (3 more years??), 3. Kolesar (2 more years) 5. Sam Ruopp (2 more years) 5. Veeti Veinio (3 more years) 6. Vladislav Gabrikov (3 more years) 7.Markus Nuutivarra (3 more years)

Next question- Placement of players.
Forwards- There was some chatter here that Hanikkainen could be playing in the AHL this year, but I am not sure what is going on now to be honest. Moutrey, Zaar, Milano, Ambroz go to AHL. Bittner, Kolesar, Sherwood are bound for juniors. Unsigned Draft pick Dante Salituro invited to main camp- interested to see if we sign him is bound for juniors.
Quennville- Rumor is that he is headed to Finland.
Hannikainen- I believe the plan is for him to go to AHL this year actually. Curious as to why he didn't go to Traverse City though.

Defense- Paliotta, Heatherington, Kukan, Yevenko to AHL. Siebenaler, Leblanc, Ruopp to juniors. Veinio to Finland.

I'd like to see a different angle or 2, but even if the puck was tipped of the d man and moving a bit, that might literally be the worst goal I have ever seen scored against a pro or even high "amateur"(college/jrs) goalie. Calculating the overall "velocity" on that shot and the fact there was no traffic at all, I really don't understand how he missed that. I watched it, over and over. I don't know if something has happened in his life/career or if he's always just been an overhyped prospect (Swedish MA Fleury?) and actually bad goalie but almost everything I've ever seen from him has shown that he is nothing but a bad goalie.

I don't even know what the player was doing that "shot" the puck. I think he was hoping it went lower, so it rebounded out off Dansk's pad for his teammate. Or maybe a whistle? Or did he see enough from Dansk to think that it might go in, because that's almost what it looks like haha.

By the way, does anyone televise (or legally stream) the Swedish league in the US? I know that One World Sports airs the KHL and Champions Hockey League, but don't know where else to find other European leagues.

I've seen one worse in the AHL, but the goalie was way out of the net (I seem to recall him skating to the bench thinking there was a penalty on the other team, but I can't be sure).

http://www.generalfanager.com/ ... a solid resource. Not as quick and up to date as CapGeek, but they do a nice job.

By the way, one of Dansk teammates in this season will be Alex Aleardi, who scored four goals in one of preseason games for Springfield.
