i think each team should have either 1 or 2 exceptions, that way not every player is jumping over the CHL, but still, the team that owns their rights can dictate the best path for them...would have come in handy for RyJo and might be handy for Murray...

Absolutely concur with this and have felt this way for some time.

I think that in the second year after they're drafted, this could be a possibility. But, would you argue that leading the Winterhawks in scoring as an 18 year old was a bad thing for Johan's development? I certainly don't think he belonged in the NHL last year (at 19), and maybe the AHL would have been a better option. But, I will also argue that another year in the WHL certainly wouldn't have hurt him.

I don't think it would have helped either. At least he has some NHL experience going into this season

Seventh-round pick Gianluca Curcuruto has a new major junior team. The defenseman was traded from Sault Ste. Marie to Plymouth.

I hadn't heard that Murray had made a decision. Our beat writer is still waxing nostalgic about Zenon Konopka.

If a miracle happens and they get a deal done on time, it shouldn't affect him at all. I think he was going to end up in the WHL this season anyway, though I would at least like him to go through camp.

it wasn't really news to me...makes 100% sense and is only to get him more ice time until something is decided...we can call him up at anytime...

opening night of the CHL: Boone Jenner with 2 goals 1 assist +1 in teams' 5-2 win. Dansk gets the loss in his opening game allowing 4 goals. (4-2 loss)

Does anyone have a complete list of where each prospect is playing this year (2102) broken down by league and then broken down by team?

Capgeek.com keeps a database of all players signed by the franchise ... usually it's pretty easy to look them up and then do a Google search for them.

A great resource for this is eliteprospects.com ... which is where I go for all of my stats, regardless of the prospect.

Oscar Dansk gave up 7 goals in 2 periods tonight. He wasn't given much help by his defense but for awhile in the first, he was on fire and stopped a ton of shots. then it went downhill

Ryan Murray and the Everett Silvertips are down 2-0 after the first period of their season; to the team that selected Joonas Korpisalo at the Import Draft, the Prince George Cougars. Murray is currently -1.

More to come...

One Murray and the 'Tips will want to forget - a 6-0 shellacking at home to open the season. Murray goes -3 on the night with 2 penalty minutes.

It's a long season, but all fingers point to Everett to be one of the league bottom feeders again. Hopefully Murray can continue to prove himself, however ... one thing's for certain: he'll see plenty of minutes.

He should feel right at home with the Blue Jackets, that is, if they ever play again.

As long as he doesn't get the Rick Nash treatment and never has any talent around him, Murray is the kind of player that makes a team immensely better. The Silvertips literally have no offensive players - their leading scorer last year had 57 points and isn't returning this year. In fact, the pace Murray scored at might have put him in the team's lead had he not missed so much time with a high ankle sprain. It will be a long year for him in Everett, without a doubt.

Is that a healthy thing for his development?

If there is a camp will he come back up?

Josh Anderson has shown some flashes of being a very dangerous player. Using his speed and size well and he has some really nice hands. He made two great plays today to set up goals.

I liked what I saw from him at the end of last season and it appears he's going to start having some success on the stat sheets.

Is getting thrown to the wolves with the Jackets better for his development? No one can say at this point, but I don't think he's in a bad situation ... it's not like the locker room in Everett is sour or anything, they are just a young team. He'll have every chance to excel and show off his leadership skills with Everett, so I certainly don't think it's a bad thing.

If there is a camp, I think he gets a shot ... but if I'm not mistaken, the league has put some kind of a restriction on when the teams will be able to bring players up from junior if it's this year, so if the lockout drags on for too long, he won't have that chance anyhow. This is why he and his agent didn't want the Jackets to send him back to Everett in the first place. I think he should be playing hockey right now, so the Jackets made the right move.
