Columbus is about to become the largest supplier of semi conductor chips in the world. That’s amazing. The amount of jobs directly and indirectly this will create will be such a positive impact on the state. I just wish Columbus would share some of this shit. Seems like everything is happening there. Bring some of those jobs up here to Cleveland.

The metro area is wholly unprepared from both a housing and public transit perspective.

Probably no one in the Cleveland area willing to provide the tax breaks these large-scale tech development to always get.

And D&S is right about infrastructure and I will add in response to having until 2025 to get it figured out that that will not happen.

Columbus is young and booming. Tech companies want to come here. Plus airport is easily accessible, lots of farmland to convert into new companies, OSU is churning out graduates, etc. You can even buy Lamborghinis and Ferraris in Columbus (and have them serviced). But, to stay on topic for HF, Columbus has NHL hockey. Rich execs don’t want to watch the AHL.

I started playing adult league hockey maybe 2 years ago, and I’ve been trying to improve my shot over that time - my snapshot got to a point where I was happy with it, but the other day I took a snapshot and had wrist pain for 2-3 weeks. My wrist never bothers me otherwise, but as soon as I try to take a snapshot now it feels like I’m hyperextending my wrist… am I doing something wrong in my shot mechanics to cause this pain? Is this normal?

FYI I’m RH and it’s my right hand that hurts when shooting.

Does this issue occur if you shoot with a stick with different flex/blade curve? I recall hurting my lower hand wrist temporarily many times as a kid when I tried to take shots with my friend's sticks which usually had stiffer shaft and closed curve on the blade. I believe the cause of pain was putting too much pressure on my wrist that is in an awkward or more extreme angle.

Well now that you mention it, it happened when I switched to a pro stock stick (Justin Danforth Bauer). I think the curve is the same but the flex and lie are probably different.

I love it when “next country dude I’ve never heard of” is immediately headlining arenas.

Yes I acknowledge some of that is on me, but it’s not old-guy out-of-touch me (which is a real thing but not in this instance) but rather country-music out-of-touch me.

Don't feel too bad. Country music (modern, at least) and the culture surrounding it are trash.

Look up what happened to Lil Nas X once producers and the ol' boys network figured out who he was after Old Town Road charted. Look up what fans did at other country concerts when artists started covering it...and then how those fans reacted when they found out who Nas was.

I'm not all that into country music but I know him. Mostly because of one single I heard on the radio during a car trip that caught my attention, and reading more about him afterward.
"One Mississippi", for the curious.

Being a food nerd, I read about HCT on Columbus Underground right after their very first weekend and they raved about how good it was. It was just a food window in Olde Towne East and I got there 30 minutes after they opened the next Saturday and there were dozens of people waiting in the drizzle. The person in front of me drove from Dayton. This was after being open 2 days, you kinda knew they had something.

I can do the Hot, I can't do the Holy. Way too hot for me.

It amazes me how many big acts avoid Columbus all together for Cinci or Cleveland. It's right between those 2 cities and most convenient for fans to attend.

It has until 2025 to figure it out. But first they have the issue of finding construction workers. They need like 3K and there’s a massive shortage in construction workers.
Can't they bring them in? They don't have to be in central ohio?
I know several guys from SE Ohio that worked on Nationwide Arena as an example.
That is almost a double plus if they are renting houses or hotels during construction.

I do agree housing will be tough. But I'm assuming Honda will try to be out towards/past Marysville and obvioulsy Intel is on East side, so likely more land out those ways for more housing.

I scored a goal tonight. Had some dishes I spun out. Was around the kj line for face offs. Not pleased with that. 2 games in and I’m getting my legs, lungs, and edges back. It’s always a nice feeling to have some juice in the tank after 8 minutes into the game

I wanted to pass along my thoughts to those that are or who may in the future become part of a hurricane/tropical storm path. It is that time of the year and it looks like there are hurricane models that show a hurricane heading towards the US/Florida area. Yesterday a hurricane hit Nova Scotia with news video showing terrible destruction.

So I just wanted extend my thoughts to those that are in harms ways. I know that @Macster popped in here a few weeks back and I know he is from Halifax. So I wish him, his family, friends and everyone else from that area my thoughts from abroad and also to those who may become affected in the future.
