It has been over for quite a while. Time to look at player development, better conditioning for next year, and the draft. The history of injuries with this club may expose some systematic issues. It's been going n for a while. Injuries are part of the game, but we seem to lose more than most year in and year out.

Jarmo is going to get rid of the dead weight. Richards will be back.

Teams with depth (Detroit for example) don't seem to suffer catastrophic season ending scenario’s.... I don’t always see eye to eye with John Davidson (Erixon, Tropp, team Captain etc.) but this I can say, he is building an organization based on depth as Detroit….

The CBJ have used injury for excuse too long, that’s because they have never had depth…. Davidson is dedicated to changing that but it takes time… As for this season, it’s over John, start training camp now and draft as high as possible!

"Over?!? Did you say over?!? Nothing's over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!?" :sarcasm:

Good points that I didn't touch on. I think we should get used to no having anymore half assed free agent signings or deadline acquisitions. Talent will be grown from within. It will be painful in years like this, but necessary to become a long term winner like a Detroit, Nashville, and recently St. Louis. That's the common denominator as to why each one of those franchises is successful year in and year out.

Trading away guys like Voracek really set the organization back.

For ca5150 and all the other true believers I offer this:

A 20-5-6 finish, which approximates the 19-5-5 finish in the lockout season will give us 95 points and a chance. Rangers need to win 16 or 32 to get to 96. Caps 15 of 29. Bruins 16 of 30 plus 1 OT loss. It's possible but daunting. I don't see it but if they pull it off good for the them.

Wow, I ran the numbers in my head incorrectly. Back on the believe train!

Boston picks up a point against Edmonton. They are really sucking as of late. Now they have Chi & St L to finish up the road trip. Looks like a bit of a break for them once they get home but they need to play better or 5150 will be all excited.

Tonight's game is one of the ones we have to win if we are to have a chance (which I think is slim but it is possible). Can't just beat the bad teams need a few wins against the big guns.

I said last week that Boston and Florida are on a slide and we will have a shot if we string some wins together! We have proven we can beat anyone, dominate even-St. Louis, tonight is HUGE for the confidence. We take 2 out of the next 3 and we are in it!

But you sold all your remaining home tickets, right?

Haha, he's never living that one down!

I was drunk and angry after going to a blowout game that they didn't show any effort, lol. But I have never stopped hoping and believing they could climb back in it! And have never hoped for a loss for draft purposes.

:) I've been there with ya many times, but without the tickets to sell. And I will never roof for a high draft pick either. That is a slippery slope

All I'll say is it will be very interesting to see what you guys have to say if the team goes on a legitimate "run" and gets within 4-5 points...

All they gotta do is win games.

I guess I wanna add that its pretty disappointing to see that so many of you guys have no confidence that they could pull this off. Its definitely not probable but its also NOT impossible.

Its pretty easy to not have confidence in something that is definitely not probable. It would be easy to have confidence if it was definitely probable. As a matter of fact now that I think about it I'm pretty sure something that is probable can't be definite.
