Worst glove hand in the league. Book is out. One goal becomes two.
I don't know if keeping Primeau over Allen and Barronnover Kovacevic will bear fruits long term when it comes to future versions of Primeau and Barron, but it will bear fruits long term by being good for the tank short term.

I absolutely believe a team is looking at his glove hand and thinking they can fix it. And maybe they can. But It makes me think we can get a decent roster player for him if we add a late pick

The books been out for a few years now. We’ve been patient allowing him to try and rewrite the plot but he may have the worst glove hand I’ve seen play here since Jose Theodore. At least Theodore wasn’t a natural right handed catcher so he had a bit of an excuse. It’s brutal to watch Primeau stabbing at pucks like a beer league goalie striking a pose at the point in his career he should be close to a finished product. He also has a laundry list of other issues he needs corrected if he’s going to stay in this league past this year.

There are options: call someone up, claim someone on waivers like Kahkonen, Martin Jones is still unsigned.

They either need to play this guy or find someone else. Montembeault can't play 4-5 games in a row all season behind the current roster.

We played with 3 goalies all last season to keep this guy and for what? I've never seen a goalie at this level with a worse glove hand.

"He may get claimed on waivers!!" So? Goalies, and good ones, become available every year it seems. With our draft capital, we can afford to get one who is even slightly above replacement level.

5 GAA is a guarantee when this guy plays. It's not sustainable.

I hope if he is waived that he gets claimed. Time to move on. Hughes should snag Kaakonen...why not...

yikes Kent’s bet on ditching Jake Allen for the for the unproven tandem not looking good. He would clear waivers all the way to Beer league

I'm not quite ready to give up on the guy just yet, but he seems so fragile right now, he can't be giving his teamates much confidence. Although to be fair, Monty isn't lowering my stress level much either.

Really? What more do you need to see to be convinced that Primeau is not an NHL goalie.

Allen wasn't going to be here when it's time to win. Primeau had a chance of being here. It looks like he won't be. But we also got a 3rd/shot at a 2nd for Allen, and we wouldn't have gotten that for Primeau.

We'll see how this year turns out. But I might end up being very happy with the tank that was helped with going with Primeau and Barron over Allen and Kovacevic. We'll see who we draft at which spot.

I don't mind losing a bunch of high scoring games but getting blown out a bunch won't help the progression of the kids, we could end up like Buffalo spinning in eternal shittery forever. Fowler could be 5 years away from making an impact. Not an easy spot to be in for sure

I was never optimistic about Primeau. But I figured what's the worst that could happen by giving him 1 year as the backup? Well we may be seeing the worst case scenario, and since I'm a tanker at heart I don't mind it.

But the problem with Buffalo is they traded a lot of good young talent before their peak, and they screwed up a lot of their 1st round picks. As long as we don't do that, we should be fine.

Ship him to Laval, zero chance he gets claimed, maybe he can find his game

Of course that's if we want to try and improve

So far I just have no faith in the Reinbacher pick, and we LUCKED into Demidov so that was a no-brainer. Yeah we will have to wait and see its going to take a few more years

2022: Slafkovsky over Wright and Cooley, Lane Hutson (plus Beck)
2023: Fowler, (we'll see about Reinbacher and Bogdan)
2024: Demidov (they still picked him), Hage (how about this pick)

I'm definitely liking the drafting a lot so far. Would have liked to have seen Michkov with Demidov, Hutson, etc... But we'll see about Reinbacher versus Michkov over the years...

I keep forgetting about Hage, is he a gem or what? I don't know much about him, I lost count after Demidov!

Hard to believe Primeau would end up like this given his college numbers and WJC play. I hope Fowler doesn't do similar.
