Who cares "who" the Rangers have beaten? This isnt college basketball where you have to build a resume to make the playoffs. Every game counts the same regardless of opponent. When youre 19-7-4 the only important game is the next one

Exactly. This team has plenty of talent and made huge improvements in their overall approach. Opponents are now more prepared for the Rangers. Not to mention the injuries and the schedule. It happens. It’s a long season. But the backbone has been solid. We haven’t gotten caved at all. The offense has not clicked lately, that’s the main problem.
No one can ever predict these things but I’m very optimistic.

Because it's an indicator on how they will play in the playoffs. The Coyotes don't play in the tournament. Teams like the Knights and Avs do.

Let's do a hypothetical.

Let's say team A plays 5 games and in those 5 games they go 5-0, but the teams they beat were the Coyotes, Habs, Devils, Sabres and Hawks
Team B plays 5 games and goes 5-0 and beats the Avs, Caps, Leafs, Canes and Panthers.

Best start that we've had in years, a real coach, our prospects that we've talked about for years are here or on the way shortly, possible trade deadline acquisitions, not selling!, a Hart trophy finalist, a Norris WINNER, and a guy who should be in the Vezina running this year.

6-3-1 in December after playing 10 in 17 days, most of them without their best player and with Lundkvist missing 5 games and Panarin 2. I think going 0-3-1 against Colorado, Nashville and Vegas is a combination of them being tired, some injuries, and those 3 teams all being hot and on winning streaks. It's not only who you play but when you play them. They are going to have some time to rest and get some practice time in. To me there is a lot to be positive about. They are 1 point out of 1st and solidly in playoff position. Mika is starting to score and showing signs of breaking out, Panarin and Shesty should hopefully be back next game. I see good things coming.
