You're being a bit unreasonable. The point that others have made is that you're awfully quiet when the team is playing well, but when there is something to point the finger at you're very vocal. That kind of pattern speaks to an agenda.

Anyway: Since you're unaware of what facism is and use it as an argument when you receive criticism I'm not going to spend any more time on this since you're not someone I'd label reasonable or level headed. Have a happy christmas.
I don’t think the team is actually playing well at all even when they were winning. I’ve made those points early on. Beating the bad teams doesn’t impress me, if it impresses you then I don’t know what to tell you but it seems like your standards are lower than mine. I don’t kiss this teams ass when they do something they are supposed to. You do.

So they can develop goalies and defensemen but not forwards?? Laf will be there soon...Filip needs to be more physical..I watched him last night and he is soft on the boards. I would do one thing to him if I was GG...put him in front of a video of Reeves and Hunt finishing checks then watch what happens to the rest of his game. He is a spectator more times than not.
Apparently they can't.

There's a great track record with goalie development... defensemen less so but it's there.

Where are the forwards? Miller leaves and blossoms in VAN... we spend forever on Buch and trade him away... Kreider? That's one. Kakko, Chytil and Laf should all be further along.

Maybe Kravtsov wasn't wrong after all... maybe he felt staying here would atrophy his skills.

summed up the game for me. some are upset about not getting shots in the third, but IDC about that since Vegas was allowed to hold, hook, and interfere with all of our players that whole period.

The blatant trip on Fox and a clear hold on Hunt behind the Knights net where he and the ref were making eye contact was particularly brutal

As obnoxious as TheBloodyNine is, and believe me, I’ve never been more inclined to use the ignore feature, but it’s been really refreshing, since I’ve been back, to see how well the boards are moderated now. It feels…..free.

You mean less strictly or more strictly? Because it's less strict but trust me it's not Laissez Faire.

That's what I have been saying.....if you are not pointing /scoring you best be hitting and making something happen .

No only does howden score the first goal.
He wins the face off to keep the puck in the zone and then gets the assist on the 2nd.
Like WTF.
That’s more offensive then he provided basically all of last season.
What an absolute nut kick.
And just for good measure, JAM, whose developed into a solid winger that we gave up for nothing, wins it in the shootout

you couldn’t script it better to piss off ranger fans

Just goes to show that development takes time.

No doubt other current kids/prospects will have to be moved out, only to return as more mature players on other teams. I'd be surprised if this doesn't happen to Chytil for one.

I hope Turk told his team, this is how playoffs are officiated. Fox is going to be molested and panarin fingered and there won't be PPs. Bloody9 will win this argument if we're still diddling around at EV come April.

Let’s blow it up then.

we have clearly failed

They need 2 more young top 6 forwards including a center who can take over for Mik one day. Maybe not blow it up but make moves to accomplish those acquisitions as opposed to trying to win it all this year? Yes.

NHL ramping up testing

Please just pause the season. What do they think is going to happen with more testing? Tons of positives. Just pause the season before more games are tainted.

I 2nd that Broski. I think chytil matures around 25 like Zibby did. Not say he’ll ever be as good of a scorer/passer or have similar offensive output as Zibby.
But I think he becomes a consistent 50-60 pt center whose hard on the puck when all’s said and done.
It’s just one of those things, where here the role expected for 3C isn’t optimal for chytil. Or LaF really for that matter.
And they aren’t going to let him toil there and play the same way for the next 3 years and hope and wait.
We have cap concerns, Barron coming, Want to be competitive for Zibby/Panarin/Kreider/Trouba years while they are all still here.
I think you see Goodrow-Barron- ??? As the foundation of a heavy grinding, forechecking, work the boards down low 3rd line.
I think the ?? Could perhaps be Blais, or someone whose not even in our current realm of possibility

I agree. Especially about the center. The wing I think comes from in house IMO. Between Barron and Hopefully Korczak after him, we should have good cheap 3C talent.
I’m hoping all of Othmann, Berard, and Cuylle make an impact in 2 to 3 years, but we at least need 2 of the 3 to be players in secondary roles to provide abrasive play and offense.
I don’t think this should be a throw away season though.
Whether we like it or not, this team has some magic. I would add at the deadline. Smart short term moves that don’t empty the cupboard. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if shesty/Zibby/Panarin/kreider gets hot we win more then 1 round.
Gallant took a first year expansion team with not better center depth then us to the finals.
I wouldn’t be shocked if we caught some lightening in a bottle come playoff time. Though some guys are underperforming, we have a lot of quality pieces here.
The right amount of luck and bounces in the postseason and who knows!??
I do agree that this team as currently constructed isn’t a perennial year in and year out threat to go deep in the playoffs without some key moves.
For example, Tampa was built better, even when they were bounced early, you knew they had too much talent and would be back.
I don’t see why it’s an either or situation with us. Like either go for it with this squad, or trade off some key pieces for more youth.
We can still be a winning competitive team with a good culture.
Drury just has to continue to make the right trades and draft the right players.
The only move he’s made that I didn’t fully like was getting a 2nd instead of a 1st for Buch.
But we all know the host of reasons why, new contract, expensive wings signed already, kids coming, etc etc
Would I have like Kupari and 1st??? Sure, but Blais will help us beyond this season. I’m confident in that. Plus we tend to draft well in the 2nd rd.
If CBJ doesn’t go off the board with PLD, Buch is an Oiler right now, and Keller would be a homegrown ranger.
If we draft Kostin over Chytil, maybe we let Kreider go in trade depending on how he developed here, and we wind up with Robertson and 1st.
A ton of trades almost happen that never were. And those trades have a ripple effect on other moves that would have been made down the line.
It’s impossible to know what this team would look like if they trade Kreids or Buch a year or 2 earlier

Went to three separate testing facilities today because my daughter woke up with a fever. No appointments available. Lines around the buildings.

It’s exploding

Gonna try again tomorrow morning. Likely will be quarantined from the extended family for Xmas, for the second straight year.

We have immunocompromised and also an unvaccinated member or two that we would like to protect in addition to stopping the spread. Which seems inevitable now now matter what you do.

Really disappointing. Kids are getting shafted and I feel terrible, but in the greater scheme of things all I wish is for a healthy family and country and for this shit to end.

Nobody has said blow it up. There's always so much overreaction in response to mild criticism.

They had a great month where they controlled play and guys were starting to look good.

Now they're falling right back into the "just let the other team shoot at will" paradigm that accomplished nothing Hank's entire career. The forwards are stagnating again.

This organization has a lot of old habits to break. It's an ice cold take.

of course there’s going to be peaks and valleys thru every season.
They definitely weren’t the best team on the ice when they won some of those games. But we were also the better team an lost a few as well.
The biggest difference I see is overall effort. Except for a few stragglers, overall this team gives a shit. They stand up for each other. There’s a different air in the locker room and on the ice.
Losing Blais for the year sucked. The Kravy situation, shesty and now panarin injured.
It’s not like there’s been no adversity or drama.
It’s just been handled better from the top down opposed to a year ago.
As long as they keep busting their asses and playing hard, this will be a successful season.
Hopefully with us winning at least 1 playoff round. That would be tremendous experience for our young guys.
They need to feel the playoff atmosphere, see when the game speeds up and gets nastier.
That kind of thing is invaluable down the line as they get older.
hopefully for LaF and kakko the playoffs become second nature by their mid 20’s and theirs no surprises.
Same goes for Fox, Shesty, Miller etc hell everyone...
Some players only taste of playoff hockey was that horse shit in the bubble 2 seasons ago.
Vastly different to a 7 game series against a division rival

This is the fundamental flaw here: This isn't an argument. It's not even a discussion anymore, it's just "I'm right, you're wrong." Is this just supposed to turn into some moping echo chamber of how nothing will ever be good again? I actively choose not to partake in that to a level that it disrupts other discussion. I guess it's whoever's prerogative if they want to, but I can't imagine how that doesn't get tiring.

No one is arguing that NYR are playing amazing hockey and can't get wins. No one is refuting that they aren't playing well. People are trying to just not be f***ing miserable and calling everything and everyone in the organization a complete biological and/or logistical failure after things don't go perfectly every single game. I understand people have as much of a right to voice their ideas and opinions, but it becomes insufferable. I'm not even old and I'm too old to work myself into a state of rage and despondence because NYR aren't playing well.
