Carter Hart in Canadian jail.

This org has a history.

@BiggE The one thing I wanted least out of this dopey fandom was the Tibbetts debates again. They're going to happen.
Billy Tibbetts, that piece of shit. Genuinely my most hated Flyer of all time, both because of him being an awful human, and because Manderville was a solid player, and seemed to be a pretty good guy.
----

Independent of all this, and separate from the case entirely, one person who I can't help think about in this moment is the autistic kid who bought a Hart #79 jersey, who people kept reporting was the reason Hart kept that number. That poor kid is going to have some feelings bound up in all this.

One can hope. Obviously, the legal process must play out, but professional sports has a long, sordid history of looking the other way at heinous crimes as long as someone was talented. It would be a net positive to society if we normalized the idea of talent not being a "get out of consequences free" card.
Hockey Canada tried and tried to sweep this under the rug by settling with her out of court. It exposed their whole illegal 'sexual assaults pay off slush fund' and resulted in all the staff and board of directors being replaced and their funding cut from the Canadian Sport Ministry.

The police continued investigating and here we are. The London Police and the Crown would not have brought charges without a reasonable hope of conviction.

The players will get long, if not lifetime, suspensions.

Most hated Flyer SO FAR!

CARTER HART COME ON DOWN

Will the names be released after those investigated are charged? And could someone charged with a crime get their contract terminated before a court decision?

I wonder what the players union will do in this case. Fight any sort of attempt at contract termination?
