If we get to that point, they probably won't bother terminating his contract. They'll just let things play out.

regardless of hockey, Hart always seemed like a decent enough guy. Got to spend some time with him at Flyers events and he was always cordial and seemed to have a good head on his shoulders.

This is just massively disappointing and terrible. I hope the victim can find some semblance of peace when this is all over. Because the details of this case are pretty awful.
