I for one am very confident and positive that we can move on without shifting the focus to the victim, as it is very possible to optimistically state that perhaps Hart can be absolved without also insinuating the victim or judicial system could be lying.

Would it be helpful to shift the conversation to the absolute dope who's bringing headphones to Wegmans so he can listen to Howard and Nicholas give unsatisfactory answers to everything while trying to find ripe apples?

Theoretically, of course.

And I'm reminding you, who has a "rich" history of misogyny, that always assuming and insinuating that women are lying without evidence welcome or productive. You are making very specific comparisons. We were not allowing premature accusations against Hart. We will not allow the same towards the woman.

This is gonna be the end of it. I'll start cleaning going forward.
Oh please. Who's the bad guy here? The person reminding people not to always jump to conclusions, or the person who wants to delete any posts that don't 100% paint Hart as a criminal?

As someone 1° away from multiple sexually assaulted women, I'm glad I can't see some of these posts. It's for my own good as a poster on this site.
I've been open about it in my music career, and none of you know me from Jesus, but the people questioning the length of time.

I was molested as a kid. No one knew about it until I was in my 20s. It was done by a family member of mine. Not a single person has ever doubted my story. And it's because no one wants to say "you're a liar" to a 6'4" 190 pound man. They only like saying this kinda shit to women.

Now, of course there are false allegations. But nothing about this would appear to be made up. Seems highly credible and it seems like multiple parties took their time in coming to this conclusion.

The Flyers have put together the best goalie prospect pool since Blackhawks had Belfour/Hasek/Joseph.

You don't do that with Canada's best U25 goalie and your crease solved for the next decade. There's too much smoke here to not be fire.

Look, hart is my favorite player, only current jersey I have. And maybe I'm just expecting the worst so that if it happens it's easier to stomach. but this looks bad.
And signing the Belarus kid and one from this draft. Agreed.

You've gone beyond reminding people to not jump to conclusions and are suggesting the victim is maybe the wrongdoer via your examples and without evidence. That's a problem!

Contrary to popular belief, I actually have a very light touch as a mod, by the way. I want to let discussion stand and flow. Let's let that be possible.

Don’t they have video evidence of this incident? Or I am crazy for thinking I read that somewhere?
So... details are hazy in my mind but if I remember correctly there was video evidence of some sex acts that had the male trying to get consent weirdly multiple times.

The next day the woman would go on to say that she wasn't ok with what happened and the player then proceeded to get pushy and telling her to fix it.

So, dunce hat time. Should this go to court under criminal charges, and the players are found not guilty, does that mean Hockey Canada can sue for that 3.5mil back? Or was it a case that they were charged on the handling of the incident?

Sorry, I have no idea how US/Canadian law works.
Civil cases are decided on a balance of probabilities whereas criminal one’s are beyond a reasonable doubt. Different onus/threshold. In other words, just because someone is found innocent in a criminal case, does not mean they’d have shared the same fate in a civil one.

Only people accused of sexual assault get the benefit of "innocent until proven guilty". The victim? She is definitely making it up, she's guilty until proven innocent.

It was mentioned before, but a person is generally found "not guilty", not "innocent".
