Baker back to baking. Yiss.
ALSO… FU^K YOU CHEESEHEADS.
CJ Stroud was the best available, but Tepper and others didn't like how he sounded when he talked. They took magic beans over someone who was athletically and played a better pro styleWhat happened with Young? Is it that he can't do those things at the NHL level that scouts thought he could do? Is it that he can't process the game when it's so much faster and bigger? Or does he still have this in him, but needs a fresh start? Or did the Panthers just ruin him "short term"? Or is he just not big enough to handle the rigors?

WELL THAT’D MAKE ME HAPPY, BECAUSE THAT’D MEAN THERE IS A BOJANGLES WITH A PARKING LOT.Better keep your head on a swivel next time you're in the Vengeanceland Bojangles parking lot.
I'd like to see Mr bean get a start. So you're saying Bryce Young is Mr Bean?

How old is he now?
Is that a "hindsight" statement? IIRC, most of the rankings had Young above Stroud as well, didn't they? The only concerns I recall about Young were his size. I believe many on this board also liked the pick (not necessarily the trade, but the pick).CJ Stroud was the best available, but Tepper and others didn't like how he sounded when he talked. Wasn't it the "Wonderlic" like test that swung it against Stroud. I thought I read that Tepper and his wife put a ton of credence in that one factor and it swayed the decision. Not sure if it was the actual Wonderlic or one of the replacements/alternatives....Stroud, Young and Richardson was the top 3.
Stroud was the most ready, Young had the Alabama pedigree while being way under sized and Richardson had the most raw talent and athleticism.
Reports was that the way Stroud spoke is why Carolina took Young over him, despite Stroud having the better QB IQ and size.
I just googled and looked at many rankings, unrelated to the Panthers, and most of them had Young over Stroud. I assume many of those rankings were likely people that never did interviews with the two of them like Carolina did. I think saying Stroud was the better prospect at the draft is hindsight.Stroud, Young and Richardson was the top 3.

Hes like a Doug Flutie with out the flakes and long bomb.I just googled and looked at many rankings, unrelated to the Panthers, and most of them had Young over Stroud. That's not to say that how Stroud spoke played a role in Carolina's decision (as I have no clue but read the rumors). Just saying that universally, it looks like many pundits had Young rated higher.
my concern with Young was size and durability. If you are right in picking him, you look like a genius but that's a risk for a guy his size.

Yeah, I will repeat this…Despite the way it played out, I don’t think taking Young was that indefensible. There’s a lot of 20/20 hindsight about that decision, when at the draft it was all considered a toss up.
To me, the crazy thing is stripping down a whole-ass team, including trading the NFC OPOY and your #1 WR, in a tanking/trading bonanza during a year when everyone was saying “I dunno man, it’s a tossup” about the pick you burned down the franchise to get.
Like, the Pens tearing it all down for the Lemieux draft made sense… doing it for the Slafkovsky draft wouldn’t make sense. You need to know you’re getting the right guy and that the rebuild is gonna be so short your fans will forget it ever happened.
