GDT: Carolina Panthers 4: No more Rhule(s)!

Pros:
- Franchise QB swing, that rocks

Cons:
- No one to throw to, so they’re probably bad next year
- They no longer have their 1st round pick next year, so it’s probably a Broncos/Seahawks situation where Bears get a top 5 pick next year because of it

Interesting either way. I love it way more for the Bears than the Panthers, but I don’t immediately hate it for the Panthers. Risk/reward for the Panthers. Mainly just reward for the Bears.

My guess for the draft: Trade up for Richardson

My hopes for the draft: Do anything but that

So I guess we plan on getting a QB problem is now that we have basically nothing around this QB that might or might not pan out in the long run.
yeah giving up what's likely to be 2 top 10 picks to move up to #1 when there's not a Manning/Andrew Luck level guy at the top of the draft is just... wow.

Have to think this is Bryce Young.

Yeah, but really who would have dealt out of rhe Luck pick?

Like next year if Caleb Williams or Drake Maye is another Luck caliber guy who would deal out of that spot?

Outside of Murray who recently signed I doubt anyone else is moving off that pick.

Teams moved off wentz, Goff, RG3, at the top of the draft. Heck even SD moved off the Vick pick to get LDT and took Brees in round 2.

I don't follow the draft closely, but is there a "franchise" QB worth trading up for? And haven't most of today's "top" QBs been drafted later on?

EDIT: Should have read further as @Sens1Canes2 already asked.

No I get it, nobody would move off the next Andrew Luck even if they had just taken Fields within the past couple drafts like Chicago had done. If anything though I'm wondering if the guys there at 9 wouldn't have been just as good. Is Young THAT much better than Robinson, Hooker, or Levis?

You mean Richardson from Florida right? I would guess that one of AR or Levis would have been gone before pick 9.

Honestly, doesn’t appear that nfl teams put much stock in non first round QBs.

Mills is likely to get replaced in Houston. Trask in TB is being scoffed at like he’s nothing in terms of potentially being TB’s starter. Corral didn’t even get a regular season snap due to his injury before Carolina opted to move up to get a QB. Ridder didn’t wow but didn’t expect that from a 4th rounder.

Seems hypocritical for anyone to tell a team to draft a QB when you don’t even give them a chance. I would t draft a QB in round 2 unless I was going to give the kid a shot in the next 2 years. Waste of pick. Better to just draft a position player instead with a second rounder. Rounds 3 onwards ok to use a flyer on one and hope.

yep, Richardson, not Robinson. No idea why I got the names confused other than Robinson is the big RB this year.

I'm with you in that I would have preferred seeing Corral get a chance if that's what you're implying. It's gotten to the point that it feels like if a QB isn't drafted in the first 60 picks the chances of them even getting a shot are somewhere between slim and none.

I personally like Stroud more than young.

Bigger, can hit every throw, accurate...stepped up big in the game against Georgia and their insane defense...showed he can run too.

Personally I try and trade down to 2 and give Houston Young and take Stroud

Maybe Houston also likes stroud. Only make that move if you are certain or they agree to take young but if you’re doing that why do they make that deal?

I agree that stroud would be the guy. I expected more out of stroud at OSU. Look at his WR group in his 2 years. 2 first rounders. Should be another in this draft and Harrison next year. Plus both OT will get drafted this year. LT in rd 1 and RT no worse than rd 2. Sim chance he squeeze into rd 1 but most likely a second rounder.

All that talent you expected insane numbers and more decisive wins but a few too many close games vs weaker opposition.

But if the Georgia game is the full use of
His talents then to me that’s what I bank on over a 5’10 195 QB.

It’s great for the Bears. If the Panthers get this right, it’s great for them too. Otherwise, yikes…

All depends on the QB selection and production. Watson, you’re fine dealing the 4OA pick in Ward to get him. Lance not so much but SF was giving up a late first making it deep into the playoffs the next 2 seasons.

Lol if this is serious, that's just amazing levels of Penthersness

When we moved on from Gettleman and Hurney, I somehow thought there wasn't any way we could be worse. I was wrong.

Yeah, let's trade all these assets for the number 1 pick and then try to drum up interest in trading down. What the f*** are these morons even doing. Jesus Christ, I am going to have a stroke.
