Canes have Aho, Svechnikov, Jarvis, Slavin all signed long term on top of having more cap space than pretty much any team in the league moving forward. Enough money in fact to get Rantanen signed at whatever he’ll end up getting, bring in a top 1RD, a big deal for a goalie, and still have money leftover to upgrade at 2C or anywhere else in the line up they’d like to. Not to forget arguably hockey’s hottest prospect not in the NHL ready to come over after the KHL season.
If being cheap means setting your club up for an extended competitive/contending window, I’m cool with Dundon being cheap.
