Dubas is the type that gets on the phone with you and then burn bridges and then ends up taking the lowest offer from the last GM cause the other GMs don’t want to deal with him anymore

As a Pens fan I have no idea what to think because I know jack shit about any of the prospects they acquired.

So I guess I'll withhold my disgust until we see in a few years whether any of these kids amounts to anything.

We don’t have a first or second. Getting one of those this year matters to a team looking to retool vs rebuild.
Vancouver fans are so confident that their team would've smoked that deal and you think the difference is a pick this year vs next year?

Not getting the top-end pieces reported by hack “insiders” must sting for Pens fans, but they came away with a replacement winger and basically an entire draft’s worth of solid prospects and a pick to stock what was otherwise a woeful farm.

It's actually kinda funny that this deal seems like directly in the middle between what Canucks fans were offering and what Penguins fans were asking from the Canucks.

I think it's a mediocre return, but calling it anything more than that is an exaggeration. Koivunen and Ponomarev are both good and Lucius seems like someone useful. The way this trade hurts is because Pagnotta cock-teased everyone by suggesting Morrow and Blake were included.
You got a great return. Pono and Koivunen? Koivunen is more talented than Blake, and he’ll fit your style better than he would’ve fit ours I suspect. He was a higher pick. You got two former second rounders. Pono for Morrow isn’t as bad as you think either. He would’ve been a Cane all year if it wasn’t for a training camp injury. Lucius is more of an unknown but he’s had a good season. Three prospects, a top six forward and a first? I think it’s better than the deal you thought you were getting. I think we overpaid.

I’m very much not sold on Morrow.

Would have to think Guentzel being non committal to any contract negotiations played a major part in this.

Almost screams he wants to be back in Pittsburgh next year or seek out the highest bidder in the summer.

Probably lessened the return.
Hopefully he signs there (Carolina). We need to move on.

Caps probably got a higher pick in the Mantha deal than Pens got in this deal

Turns out everyone was wrong with the prospects being included

Koivunen and Ponomarev are both realy solid prospects, and Lucius seems decent from the read. Still though, I would have expected at least one of Blake or Morrow in this.
I mean, they held onto all their best prospects.

Blues fans should be happy. This means Doug should extend Buch. Going to the deadline next year and you may get this or Horvat type return.

To not get a guaranteed 1st and/or one of a team's top 5 prospects for the best rental on the market at the deadline is absurd. Dubas got his boy, Bunting, though. What a bad General Manager.
