Those Pens fans that were dunking on the Hurricanes for not going for it, claiming that the best accomplishment the Canes had was getting swept in the conference finals in recent years better hope that the Canes are a lot more than that this season, otherwise they got dunked on. Didn't get the headline prospect some posters were clamoring over, didn't get a guaranteed 1st either (Most likely ends up being a 2nd).

That's 3 pretty solid prospects and another likely mid-2nd round pick. Not horrible for a team desperately in need of young talent and willing to accept high quantity/decent quality. I'm sure all the hot takes will pronounce this a landslide win for Carolina, but I don't hate this for the pens.

Start the rebuild. 3 decent to good prospects will help stock up the cupboard that is almost empty.

Now sell off some more players by tomorrow and really get the rebuild off and running.

I like it.

Feels like the equivalent of 4 2nd round picks (the 2nd round + 3 prospects that are about as valuable as 2nd round picks at this point probably). I can understand going for some quantity there with the pens' deplated prospect pool. Not a robbery of any kind for sure, but not awful either. Morrow or Blake would have been great, that's for sure.

Pittsburgh must be really high on someone on that list. Otherwise, there were guaranteed to be 1st + prospect + player available.

They want this to be a quick turnaround, for what I don't know, if Crosby is going to be 38 and Letang 100, but you can see the logic of 3 almost developing prospects.
