It's good for the org's prospect depth. I just wish the most valuable piece weren't the sacrificial lamb, if you will. Two solid prospects, but man. No 1st is crazy to me. It's a conditional 2nd more than anything.

You got a great return. Pono and Koivunen? Koivunen is more talented than Blake, and he’ll fit your style better than he would’ve fit ours I suspect. He was a higher pick. You got two former second rounders. Pono for Morrow isn’t as bad as you think either. He would’ve been a Cane all year if it wasn’t for a training camp injury. Lucius is more of an unknown but he’s had a good season. Three prospects, a top six forward and a first? I think it’s better than the deal you thought you were getting. I think we overpaid.

I’m very much not sold on Morrow.

Feels like the equivalent of 4 2nd round picks (the 2nd round + 3 prospects that are about as valuable as 2nd round picks at this point probably). I can understand going for some quantity there with the pens' deplated prospect pool. Not a robbery of any kind for sure, but not awful either. Morrow or Blake would have been great, that's for sure.

The prospects we gave up could easily outplay Morrow and Blake. Two of them are second rounders themselves that have either lived up to or exceeded their draft position.

Not bad for a rental. If he can flip bunting for a second or a low first tomorrow, even better. Already on a cheap contract for a 50 points scorer, I'd definitely give a 2nd+ a little extra to get him at 50% to 2.25m for 2 more years, would round out the Habs top 6 very nicely.

We have don’t really have similar prospects to what the Canes and offered up. They offered 3 b prospects. Wallander, lekk or Hoglander would have been too much, I don’t think we have 3 others that would have been enough. We don’t have 3 b prospects in our pipeline. Two A’s, lots of C’s.

I'm fine with the prospects but imo it should have been a guaranteed first. Oh well. Will still root for you guys since you got Jake.

I’m bummed to lose Pono and Koivunen, very high on both of them. But very happy to keep Morrow considering how our future at RHD looks. Honestly think it’s a win win trade. Canes have been drafting well and have a lot of pretty darn good prospects so could afford to give up a few.
