Yep. It's a quantity-for-quality trade that worked out for the team receiving the quantity - in this case, the Hurricanes.Skinner had a ntc clause and only wanted to play in the Toronto area. Right away that limited us to two teams geographically and it was really only Buffalo since Toronto had no need for another undersized winger who doesn’t play defence. Impossible to get value when there’s only one bidder.
Turned out alright for us, though, as the picks became Kochetkov and Nikishin.
...and instantly among the best names in the NHL (or WWE if he chose that route).Cruz Lucius - Underrated pick up
name like that, should be on a west coast teamCruz Lucius - Underrated pick up
What made Carolina willing to trade Bunting so quickly?
Just simply the piece needed to complete this trade or he just didn't mesh with the team?

The Goon. Seriously.Like. My god, how has there never been a hockey themed wrestler? I mean besides Andrew Peters
Multiple firsts, not too long ago.I'm not sure why all the handwringing over this (all the NHL24 horse trading is always fun). The Pens got three good prospects and a solid mid-6 for a rental. What, really, were people seriously expecting?
I believe the trade is good for both teams. Most of posts in here are from insecure Leafs fans.I'm not sure why all the handwringing over this (all the NHL24 horse trading is always fun). Oh really? Dubas and Pens management were quite clear, and stated repeatedly, that they are interested in prospects rather than picks. Perhaps you're confusing the wild and random predictions on these boards with reality.Multiple firsts, not too long ago.

I see more insecure leaf haters.I believe the trade is good for both teams. Most of posts in here are from insecure Leafs fans.
Did anyone, seriously, expect Nikishin for a rental? On what planet?the Nikishin stuff was just nonsense.
Canes wouldn’t give him up for Petterson, they’d have been crazy to give him up for Guenztel
These seem to be decent prospects. People always go wild in their expectations this time of year; it's fun, but silly. I'm happy with the return. In any case, the picks are certainly sexier than Jake walking this summer! There were some pretty high expectations ranging from Necas, to Nikishin, to Blake and Morrow together etc. Some of that was just crazy fan expectations but some of it was driven by actual reports.
Most were expecting a guaranteed first, for sure.
It’s not a bad return but I can definitely understand there being some disappointment since none of the pieces are particularly sexy.

Dubas and Pens management were very clear they wanted prospects, not picks. By "people" you mean random posters posting random shit here?People were expecting 2 first round picks or equivalent.
Or at least one
