Adam Oates to Philly? Maxime Oullet ( then a top goalie prospect), 1st, 2nd, 3rdHonestly I’ve been racking my brain for a comparable rental return and the closest I’ve come is Gretzky to the Blues. He brought back a 1st, 5th, Johnson, Tardiff and Vopat. Johnson was a bottom six guy, Vopat was a half decent prospect and I don’t remember Tardiff. This is a comparable and could easily be a better return. That’s blowing my mind a bit right now.
According to HFCanes board, Ponomartov is fifth and Koivunen is leading Blake for sixth.According to Scott Wheeler, Ponomaryov was the Hurricanes' 6th-best prospect, Koivunen was their 7th-best prospect, and Lucius was their 9th-best prospect.
and in spite of that, the Rags STILL couldn't beat the offer.None of these prospects were on any of the 3000 wish lists you posted in the last 48 hours.
They were never an optionand in spite of that, the Rags STILL couldn't beat the offer.
It's like how stores win customers by pricing their items $9.99 instead of $10.00I like how Canes fans, the ones familiar with these prospects, are saying it’s a decent/solid return for the Penguins, yet it’s a bunch of other fans saying how Dubas got bent over.
I hope Guentzel does well in Carolina and they go on a run. Think he should be a great fit there. I hope Koivunen and Ponomarev end up as good as Canes fans think they can be.

That’s not bad, I think this beats it though? At least it’s comparable. I can’t think of many man.Adam Oates to Philly? Maxime Oullet ( then a top goalie prospect), 1st, 2nd, 3rd
I think you’re highly overrating Michael Bunting. There’s a reason he made under a million every year of his career except this one.
According to HFCanes board, Ponomartov is fifth and Koivunen is leading Blake for sixth.
Koivunen is having an excellent year in Liiga. 55 points in 57 games. Tied for 5th in the league.None of these prospects were on any of the 3000 wish lists you posted in the last 48 hours.
Dubas Disdain sprinkled with Penguin hateThis is an incredible return for a pure rental. What are people smoking?
That wouldn’t have been close to what they got.Man this is a bad one for Dubas. As a Canucks fan, I would have paid next year's first plus podkolzin or something along the lines of that. This seems like quantity of quality with bad stipulations attached to the picks. I'm glad I'm not Dubas giving the green light for this trade. I hope the prospects they acquired prove me wrong.
I dunno, maybe because the guy had 26 NHL games played the last time he signed a contract? Wtf is that argument. Carter Verhaeghe never made more than 1m until the age of 27, he sucks too?
How much you wanna bet Dubas took a lesser prospect return here because he could get one of his ex-Soo pet rocks back in Bunting?
Pono can play right now. Bunting is signed and a legit top 6 wing who will thrive next to Crosby or Malkin. The other two prospects are coin flips.
If you think 2 months of Guentzel is worth more than. That and the conditional pick you’re delusional.
and in spite of that, Vancouver *****still***** couldn't beat it.all i have to say is LMAO to all the Pens fans saying it would take Lekkermaki/Willander + 1st minimum. Y'all couldn't even get a guaranteed 1st. This is definitely a quantity over quality deal wlthough the quantity isnt as bad as people are making it out to be. Its just being pointed out because of how Pens fans were so sure they'd get A tier prospects
