Good trade for Ottawa. The Sens already have a very rich and deep prospect pool. What's a 3rd in a weak draft year going to do? They can't let Karlsson's prime years go to waste.

Yeah the last place AHL team really shows the depth of the prospects. The 2nd rounder we kept Gabriel Gagne is lighting up the ECHL!!!! 3 Picks in this draft awesome man wooo

As a fan of the Leafs, I'm way into what Dorion is doing to his team. Loving this.

I think he's doing exactly what he needs to do. Ottawa isn't going to have a better chance at the Cup in three years. Their best chance is now. No reason to rebuild, and a waste to stand pat.

Go for it. Everyone on that roster is contributing except the depth forwards. So bring in some depth and go as deep in the postseason as you can.

Yes, completely ignore that none of our top prospects are in the AHL

Stalberg will surely help a lot.

Ehh we saw what a bottom six can do in 2015. We lost to the Habs in the playoffs mainly because of their superior bottom six.

I've been pretty critical of Dorion and didn't like the Burrows trade, but our bottom six looks much better today than it did 48 hour ago.

You guys will LoVE Burr.

I like Stallberg.

Never in my dreams would I have thought burr would get MORE than Stallberg.

But I still don't think they make a difference for you guys in the playoffs until you go REALLY big.

even Toronto might beat you guys in the first round with that lineup.

I think people have been ignoring how horrible the Sens depth is and how overextended the top 6 have been as a result. Kelly - Lazar - Neil has been our 4th line. Now we've got some depth and Lazar will be traded to get that pick back.

Hoffman - Turris - Stone
Dzingel - Brassard - Ryan
Smith - Pageau - Burrows
Stalberg - Wingels - Pyatt
Neil - Kelly - DiDomenko

No more calling up Varone when there's injuries.

I would gladly give you that third back in exchange for Lazar.

4th line is still junk, Wingles is god aweful. Varone showed more in the game last night than anyone on those bottom two lines has all season outside of Pyatt and Stalberg.

Exactly this. Turris played like 26+ mins when Stone and Hoff were hurt. We've also been rolling with 11F-7D many games this season because we have zero confidence in our 4th line players. We need this.

Their roster is good, but not nearly good enough to be legit contenders. I guess anything is possible in the playoffs, but why mortgage the future for a middling team?

Not the biggest fan of Stalberg but I'm glad we moved the 3rd round pick for a depth player. Doesn't right the Dahlen trade though.

How is this mortgaging their future? They traded a 3rd round pick and their 5-6th best prospect to fix two gaping holes in the lineup when the Sens are near the top for their division. The Atlantic is weak this year, they have a decent chance of atleast making the conference finals.

I like this move for Ottawa. Added depth. Won't need to rely on Stalberg for his offense which will allow him to produce a few goals here and there. His speed is dangerous, it's just a shame his hands can't keep up with his feet.

It's not completely terrible for their future. And I like both adds, ESP burr. But neither will make a difference in the playoffs this year and burr at least will not be effective on the ice in two years. He plays an intense, heavy game that's hard on the body.
