LOL! So after all the crap TB did, this was the only discipline handed out.
The league is a farce, and making it blatant.

One of these hits is just "playoff hockey" with no penalty, the other was a dangerous hit from behind that 5 + a game, and a suspension.
Nailed it.But what did the talking heads say about it?
You gotta forgive me I can't really formulate my own opinions - I need the league to tell me who's dirty and who's not.
Sure we didDidn’t deserve the W
Even if he was sitting on his man on the first goal, it wouldn't have made a difference. Should he have assumed JT would lose coverage and go and help him?On the third goal Nylander is covering the point, but he could have engaged as the defender got beat around the back of the net. Of course had he moved in it would leave open the point. First goal he was puck watching.
Says the guy who said Nylanders points the past few years are deceptive to his total impact on the game relative to Matthews and Marner
gtfo, Most of the posts aren't trolling Marner. There's an explanation for the cause for concern. Some of us want 16 wins, not just 4.

Love it. I keep thinking of this guy giving it to Maroon. So much salt around HfBoards today.
You love to see it.
Haters in tears all over!
That's the thing, everybody thinks the officiating is biased against them.
I don't think we will consistently win games like last night.U think we can keep winning games like last night your dreaming but fingers crossed
The problem has never been effort. Matthews scored our equally important 2nd goal, after hitting a guy, stripping him of the puck, and then going to battle in front of the net for a tip, while Marner set up a chance and then got a great shot on net. Marner also assisted on the game-tying goal. So I'll thank them all, based on their contributions, not pick and choose based on my personal preferences. We have all seen this team that can score with talent and puts little effort when it matters the most. You can thank William Nylander and ROR for even getting the opportunity to be up 1 game. Then you can go thank ROR and Rielly for winning it.
Because one team had carte blanche to run roughshod over the other team because reasons, while the other team was skating on eggshells KNOWING the refs were looking for anything ticky tacky to call against them.Sober up people.
Winning games you should have lost still means trouble.
The second period and OT was very bad. We were hemmed in our zone and seemed to have trouble establishing anything in their zone.
Any thoughts about why we were so dominated for large sections of the game ?
Fair enough. Then it stands to reason that if we play that way in game 4 it's highly unlikely we'll win, right?I can't be bothered to read this entire thread but if people are complaining about Marner, that's pretty funny.
I just want to say to everyone saying we didn't deserve to win - yes we did. We won fair and square, we didn't cheat, we scored more goals than they did, end of story. Sometimes you win games when your goaltender is by far your best player and that's OK. We've lost to hot goaltenders enough times in the past, I'm thrilled to see it go the other way for a change!
GLG!!
Never won a series with Luke Schenn either. lolRemember we’ve never won a playoff series without Luke Schenn.
I think it would have to be all the way back to 2013 when Reimer stole a few games from the Bruins. Other than that...we have had the worse goalie in every single series. That is quite the handicap to overcome.Trying to remember the last time we won a game like this when we out-goalie the opposition and score clutch goals to win.
Full marks because the goalie is part of the team and we won with clutch scoring like successful playoff teams do.
Here’s hoping that all changes.Never won a series with Luke Schenn either. lol
Any thoughts on how to combat that?
I think it comes down to sneakiness. TB and Boston play dirty all year long...they know how to hit someone "accidentally on purpose" and make it look like nothing. We don't play that game very often and don't know where the line is to not go over it and we look blatant when we do it. There is a simple fix...get them to be meaner during the season and practice your accidental hits and cheap shots. Is that the thing though? I've never seen two teams in all my life where one plays by a different set of rules than the other in a playoff series, it's so blatant I don't get how anyone denies it anymore.
I dunno, first you'd have to define the terms "we play that way" and "unlikely". If Sammy plays the same way I like our chances though.Fair enough. Then it stands to reason that if we play that way in game 4 it's highly unlikely we'll win, right?
